Dani Dyer announced her engagement to Jarrod Bowen last week, excitedly showing off her diamond ring on social media.
The 2018 Love Island winner’s joy was evident as she shared photos of her and the England footballer on a yacht, captioning them, “Us forever”.
Dani’s dad Danny Dyer led the congratulations, posting, “The most beautiful couple in the world. Right… better start writing that speech. Love you both so much.”
And an insider close to the star tells heat that Dani, whose oval-cut diamond sparkler is estimated to be worth a cool £100k, will spare no expense for her big day.
We’re told, “Dani is so excited. She’s already working on a mood board for her dream day. She’ll be hiring a wedding planner to make sure it all comes to fruition in the way she imagined. She doesn’t want something small or simple – she wants it to be a proper event to remember and she doesn’t care if it ends up costing upwards of £1million. She wants all her close friends and family to be there.”
And the bride-to-be is apparently already looking at venues by her parents’ home in Essex. “She’s tempted to hold it in Epping Forest as there are so many amazing venues to choose from in that area, and it’s not that far from where they live,” says the insider.
“However, Jarrod’s family and friends are quite spread out, with some in Herefordshire, so she’s not ruling out somewhere in the middle, either.”
Dani, who turns 28 on 8 August, and her West Ham footballer fiancé have been dating for three years and have twin daughters Summer and Star, 15 months.
She also has three-year-old son Santiago with her convict ex, Sammy Kimmence. And while Dani isn’t necessarily known for being low-key, our source tells us that she’d like her nuptials to be “tasteful over tacky”.
We’re told, “She wants it to be a traditional white wedding, but with some unique personal touches.
Of course, there will be a nod to West Ham in there to please dad Danny, as well as Jarrod, but she’s warned her dad this is her dream day and she’s not going to let him take over when it comes to having it all about football.”
We’re not saying Danny is obsessed with West Ham, but it seems little Dani is happy to indulge him somewhat.
“She doesn’t want it to be too over the top, but there will be a claret and sky-blue colour scheme running throughout certain elements of the decorations. She also wants to experiment with that colour scheme in some subtle way on their wedding cake,” the insider continues.
“What she is willing to collaborate on with Danny is coming up with some funny invitations that incorporate the spirit of West Ham and the family’s passion for the team. And while she wants it to be a beautiful occasion with opulent flower arrangements and table settings, she also wants it to be very child-friendly, so that it’s a day to remember for her three kids, who will be head of their own special tables with their relatives and some friends.”
With the father-of- the-bride’s speech an anticipated part of the day, Dani’s hoping that her dad, 47, won’t embarrass her.
“Danny has said that whatever happens, he’ll be giving an uproarious speech,” we’re told. “And while Dani has pleaded with him not to embarrass her or Jarrod, she knows it’s going to be hilarious and will bring the house down on the night, so she’s just accepting that she doesn’t have much control over what her dad will say.”
The insider adds, “Dani wants it to be a big party where everyone can let loose and make memories. It’s going to be a proper knees-up, but Dani also wants the wedding to feel classic and elegant because Jarrod is The One, and she’s not planning on getting married again.”
