She entered the Love Island villa earlier this summer and ever since then, Jessy Potts and Joey Essex have been happily coupled up. However, the arrival of bombshell Lola Deluca has thrown a bit of a spanner in the works as she’s set her sights on Joey.
At the end of last night’s episode (Wednesday 17 July), Jessy was convinced that Lola would steal Joey and leave her dumped - although we’ll have to wait until tonight’s episode to find out exactly what happens.
When Joey touched down in Spain, he revealed he was hoping to find his wife in the villa so we had to ask dumped Islanders Jess White and Hugo Godfroy if wedding bells could be on the cards for him and Jessy when we caught up with them earlier this week.
“I think Jessy definitely does display qualities that you’d want in a wife. She’s a wonderful woman, she’s strong, she’s got opinions, you know, she’s not too in your face I don’t feel like. She’s really inoffensive, which is lovely,” Jess said.
“I think she’s a good thing that Joey needs, in terms of she calms Joey down in situations and I think she’s always got his best interests at heart. When I was in there, that’s the kind of impression that I got. It wasn’t a case of her telling him off, it was more a case of her having has back like, ‘you don’t need to do this’ or ‘you don’t need to do that’. I definitely think she displays qualities of a wife, but I’m not sure if Joey wants a wife.”
Hugo added, “It’s whether he’s looking for that. He’ll be on All Stars,” to which Jess laughed, “He’ll be flying back out in a couple of months.”
As for if Joey’s head could be turned by Lola, Jess told us, “I think Joey’s head could possibly be turned. The thing is I thought it could be in Casa, I was saying to Jessy, ‘listen love, don’t be prepared for Joey to be stood there single because he’s probably got four of them, if he could, to couple up with’, and then when I came back I said that to Joey.
“He said, ‘I thought you’d be the only person backing me’. I said, ‘Joey, I know what you’re like’, but he shocked me then so maybe he’ll stick to his word and he is definitely there for love. I hope he is because Jessy is wonderful.”
Hugo joked, “I think they’ll stick together… for a month.” SHADE.
