Just in case the drama coming out of the Love Island villa wasn't enough to satisfy you, each and every dumped Islander is returning to the UK following their villa banishment and doing the rounds on your favourite sites, channels and podcasts – your FAVE being heatworld, obv – and stirring up yet more drama. The tea to come out of these Islanders has been nothing short of scalding.
This week, Casa Amor girls Diamanté Laiva and Ruby Dale paid us a visit at heat Towers in London and boy did they have some dirty laundry to air from their mini-vacay in Casa.
Not only did they reveal the MAJOR Sean Stone's major Love Island rule break and expose the real Wil Anderson (a very interesting read in the wake of Wil and Uma Jammeh's shock departure from the villa), but Diamanté revealed that she grew close to none other than Joey Essex in Casa Amor - not that any of us got to see this play out.
Joey is, of course, currently coupled up with girl-next-door Jessy Potts, and for over a week now, we've all been singing Joey's praises for remaining faithful in Casa Amor (cause let's face it, we had our doubts), but as it turns out a connection was brewing within those walls of sin in Casa, and for whatever reason, producers chose to keep it from us viewers.
So, yeah, less 'good as gold' and more 'good as Essex bronze'.
Luckily, Diamanté was in the mood to spill...
When asked which of the villa boys surprised her, she exclusively told heatworld, "Even thought Sean [Stone] did surprise me, I'd have to say Joey, because we did have conversations that weren't shown. Originally, I didn't think I was Joey's type at all - he fancies blonde, I'm the complete contrast – but he did say he dated someone previously who looked like me, and he did say he would like to get to know me."
As it turns out, the connection soon fizzled out, as according to Diamanté the 13-year age gap between the two Islanders (Diamanté is 21 and Joey turns 34 in a few weeks) made Joey feel "uncomfortable".
She continued, "But obviously, the age thing – we've got a thirteen-year age gap. So, yeah, he was a bit uncomfortable with that, which I completely understand and respect, but I do think if I was a bit older, it probably would've happened with Joey."
We get there's only so much Love Island editors can show us in an hour, but really? Editing out a whole connection like this?
If this played out on Unseen Bits we'll happily eat our words, btw; Love Island has our souls, but it will never take our Saturday nights.
