Sassy south Londoner Shaughna Phillips was involved in some of the biggest moments of this year’s winter Love Island but she’s admitted to not watching the show back now she’s on the outside world and there’s a good reason for it.
The 26 year old has revealed she’s reluctant to watch the show and “taint any of my memories” after being shocked by the editing of some scenes.
Shaughna’s explained that some of the scenes she’s watched back played out “completely different” on screen to how she experienced them in the villa.
She told Metro, “You know what happens behind the scenes, and you know the ending, so it’s a little bit boring watching it back. Also, there’s certain parts that have been shown on TV that were kind of completely different to how they happened.
“Because I know that, I don’t really want it to taint any of my memories that I’ve got.
“It’s more so the editing. The way that they edit the show is amazing, because when you’re living it, you don’t actually realise it’s going to be a TV show. They do actually work wonders because we were very boring sometimes.”

Recalling the moment she co-wrote a message for Callum Jones to tell Rebecca Gormley he wasn’t interested in her, Shaughna confessed she was left “cringing” while watching the scene back.
“Me and him were literally crying with laughter the whole time that was happening,” she said. “It was just a big laugh, a joke.
“It looks so serious! I was cringing, I was thinking, ‘Oh my God, that girl needs help!’
“I must have said some of the things for them to have been able to chop it and cut it up, but I don’t ever remember saying it. It’s like I was watching something I’ve never seen before.”

In other Love Island news, reports have claimed bosses are planning an autumn series in the Canary Islands after the summer edition was cancelled amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
A source told The Sun on Sunday, “The location is up in the air, as Majorca would maybe be a bit chilly by September/October, but the Canary Islands could be possible.
“Casting was well under way for the summer season and producers don't want to lose some of the gems they had hand-picked.”
The source continued, “The winter series lacked a few standout characters, so they had been careful to find reality TV wannabes with looks as well as brains and personality.”
