They say dogs are man’s best friend but that’s clearly not the case for Made in Chelsea’s Miles Nazaire, as the reality star has revealed he’s rehomed his dog Rocky as he’s ‘too busy’ with his TV work and being a content creator.
Miles, who became a dog daddy in November 2023, released a video on Instagram after fans began speculating about Rocky’s whereabouts as he hadn’t been spotted on the Chelsea boy’s social media for a while.
In the video, which featured a montage of clips of Miles and Rocky, he opened up about his decision after trying to give his pet pooch the ‘best life’.
‘With TV and content creation your life is up and down most days and Rocky definitely felt that. He could see that on my down days it was not great,’ Miles told his followers.
‘Although he picked me up and made me feel amazing I don't know if I could handle it anymore and it just wasn't fair on him. I was always traveling, he always had to go to daycare, he always had to go to a dog hotel and I'd go away for a few weeks, come back and he'd meet new people and I just wanted him to have the best life.’
Miles continued, ‘So when I was in Portugal I broke down because I had this realization that oh yeah I can't have him anymore, he needs the best life possible.’
Rocky is now living with another family, but Miles decision to give him up didn’t go well with some fans who took to the comments section to criticise him - with some even unfollowing him.
“How devastating for Rocky. The amount of “I" in this video as opposed to “Rocky” or “we” says it all,’ wrote one, while another added, ‘Look, he was clearly well looked after and loved but I honestly don’t get how pets are so disposable. Hate to say it, but you’ve treated the dog like you treat women - get them all hooked and then dash them off when it doesn't suit you.’
However, others defended Miles, including one who commented, ‘So sorry, Miles. It is a very hard thing to do, very selfless of you. Putting Rocky's needs first. Well done for getting him a new great home.’
One more remarked, ‘He saved you, you saved him and now you've made the best decision for him moving forward.’
