Watching this year's Married At First Sight has definitely been a highlight of the year.
The series nine cast kept us hooked from Charlie and Eve's toxic relationship from week one to Polly Sellman throwing her drink in hubby Adam Nightingale's face - we happily sat down and watched the show at 9pm everyday.
Despite all the drama there were some couples that were totally loved up and after the series finale aired it appeared that Lacey Martin and Nathan Campbell as well as Ross McCarthy and Sacha Jones would make it last... Well, until they split.
So here's a list of all the MAFS 2024 couples and what went wrong in their relationships...
Charlie Curtis and Eve Reid
This one was no surprise to anyone but Charlie Curtis and Eve Reid failed to make it work after they kept arguing throughout their honeymoon, commitment ceremonies and dinner parties. Even before their split aired on TV though, it came to light that Eve had moved on after she was spotted at the airport with a mystery woman.
Ross McCarthy and Sacha Jones
Very early on in the series it was reported that despite being loved up while the show was airing, Sacha and Ross had split amid reports that he had been posting about another woman on Facebook. Turns out the rumours were true because despite saying 'I do' at their final vows and moving in together, Ross posted a photo of his new girlfriend on Instagram - hours after the season finale aired.
Hannah Norburn and Stephen Nolson
Hannah Norburn and Stephen Nolson hit it off at their wedding but it all fell apart on their honeymoon following a blazing row. Stephen insisted the trust was gone, vowed to leave the show but then had to continue in the experiment after Hannah chose 'stay'. They barely spoke at the spa retreat and while Stephen tried to crack on with Sionainn, Hannah kissed Orson. They split at the next commitment ceremony.
Richelle Cade and Orson Nurse
Richelle Cade and Orson Nurse didn't last but they definitely kept us entertained. From Richelle grilling her husband on their wedding day and questioning his 'acting' career, to Orson kissing Hannah at the spa weekend - they had a wild journey. No one was surprised when they eventually called it quits.
Ryan Livesey and Sionainn Carmichael
We were shocked when Ryan Livesey and Sionainn Carmichael called it quits after an off-screen argument. According to Ryan it was all over his trainers and according to Sionainn he claimed he'd been faking his feelings the whole time... Savage. As as result, they both left the experiment.
Emma Barnes and Caspar Todd
It was pretty obvious these two were never going to work because on their wedding day Caspar Todd told producers that Emma Barnes reminded him of his twin sister... It went downhill from there with Caspar saying he didn't usually date curvy girls and Emma refusing to be vulnerable with him. They lasted a good few weeks in the experiment but eventually called it quits.
Kristina Goodsell and Kieran Chapman
Kristina Goodsell and Kieran Chapman splitting was a pretty big shock to everyone. Despite him wearing fake teeth on their wedding day, they instantly hit it off. Things started to fall apart a few weeks in and after Kieran's cold sore, releasing they have different values and Kristina reminding him of his ex, they called it quits.
Holly Ditchfield and Alex Henry
Holly Ditchfield and Alex Henry's marriage was the definition of a turbulent relationship. One minute they were besties and the next they were arguing at every opportunity - seriously from their honeymoon to every commitment ceremony and dinner party. It was no surprise that they ended their marriage towards the end of the experiment but they have since sparked reunion rumours.
Polly Sellman and Adam Nightingale
Another couple that should have ended their marriage from week one was Polly and Adam. He said from their wedding day that the attraction wasn't there and Polly tried with all her might to make the marriage work but alas, it didn't. They surprisingly made it to the final vows but we didn't ever hear Adam's because he stormed off.
Lacey Martin and Nathan Campbell
We're absolutely devastated about this one but after the show aired, Lacey and Nathan split too. While Nathan spoke out about their break up and admitted he was 'disappointed' it didn't work out, Lacey has claimed that he blocked her after they separated. Lacey's mum even got involved in the drama and let's just say, we doubt they'll be reuniting any time soon.
Amy Victoria Kenyon and Luke Debono
So Amy Victoria Kenyon and Luke Debono aka Barbie and Ken started off fairly well. We say fairly because he did give her the ick on their wedding day but they moved past it. However, it was Luke's constant white lies and Amy's friends grilling him that led to the end of their relationship. Bizarrely though, even after Amy turned up to their final vows in a black dress and told her hubby that their relationship was 'over, dead and deceased', he held out hope for a reunion and even told her he regretted 'not terrorising her bum hole'.
Hannah Norborn and Orson Nurse
Okay so a MAFS couple that the experts didn't put together were Hannah and Orson. Amid their failed marriage, they sparked up a connection and despite being asked to return to the show like JJ Slater and Ella Morgan, they decided against it and are now just friends. On Instagram, Hannah explained, 'Despite having talks to re enter the experiment together Orson & I decided jumping back into that stressful environment after all that had happened just wasn’t the right thing for either of us to do.'
Amy Victoria Kenyon and Adam Nightingale
Amy and Adam were coupled up during wife swap week, became fast friends and after splitting from their spouses, they teased that they were dating. Fast forward a few weeks and they've insisted that while they are each other's types, they're going to just remain pals.
Hannah Norburn and Ryan Livesey
Hannah also sparked recoupling rumours with Ryan and we were SHOOK. However they shut down all the speculation by confirming that they're just friends.
