More women have been nominated than men in the Brit Awards 2022 nominations for the first time in a DECADE, with Adele, Lil Simz, Little Mix and Dua Lipa all in the running for the coveted awards.

Adele is up for four gongs and so are Ed Sheeran and rapper Lil Simz.

We’re so here for it!

The BRITs 2022 will look a little different as it’s the first time the awards will be gender-neutral, meaning that the ‘Best Male’ and ‘Best Female’ awards have been scrapped.

The ceremony will also see the introduction of four new genre awards - recognising the best pop, rock, dance and hip-hop acts of the year. Winners in those categories will be determined by a public vote via TikTok.
