Ahh 2001 was a great year. Remember when you would come back from school, sit in front of the TV to watch Lizzie Mcguire or Malcolm in the Middle? The year the first ever iPod was released from Apple and Microsoft created the first ever Xbox.
And if that wasn't enough, we were introduced to Shrek and Monsters Inc - childhood classics. Feel old yet?
Well, our best bit of the year was the music that was released. There are songs from 2001 that you just cannot beat - from Destiny's Child to S Club 7.
Here is a look back on the songs that are turning 20 this year, to create your own nostalgic playlist.
1. Kylie Minogue - Can't Get You Out of My Head
Kylie's iconic white outfit and red lip. This was the lead single from her album Fever, and there is no wonder why. It was a song we could never get out of our heads.
2. Christina Aguilera, Lil' Kim, Mya, P!nk - Lady Marmalade
The ultimate girl collaboration. This is the song from Moulin Rouge that we all remember, and how we imagine ourselves to dance in a club - but it is definitely not what we look like when we dance in a club.
3. Missy Elliot - Get Ur Freak On
Hip-hop and cultural icon. Missy Elliot was and will always be the Queen of Rap.
4. Atomic Kitten - Whole Again
We've all pretended to be part of this music video from our living rooms. Seeing the song come on our TVs, joining in with the slow hand movements, feeling the emotion. So much nostalgia.
5. Daft Punk - Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger
Who remembers the viral videos to this song? Everyone wanted to try making their own music video for it, using their hands and bodies to show the lyrics to the song. Who would of thought a song with such few words would become so popular?
6. Shaggy - It Wasn't Me
Shaggy is the reason for never taking the blame, we're always using this song to try get out of trouble - never worked though... Still a banger two decades later.
7. Destiny's Child - Survivor
This song gave us the self-empowerment and motivation we all needed. Destiny's Child knew how to make us feel like we could conquer anything and deal with anyone. From Bootylicious to Independent Women. We felt EMPOWERED.
8. Sum 41 - In Too Deep
The song from our punk rock phase, our rebellious stage, when every guy wanted to join the spiked-hair trend of the '00s.
9. Enrique Iglesias - Hero
Still one of the best romantic ballads out there.
10. I'm a Slave 4 U - Britney Spears
The princess of pop went from releasing Baby One More Time and Oops!... I Did It Again, to this signature hit. Definitely a different vibe to her previous ones, and so was her infamous performance at the VMAs.
11. Alicia Keys - Fallin'
Fallin' was written AND produced by Alicia Keys, with the music video featuring Alicia playing the piano - so much talent - we're still obsessed with her.
12. Hear'Say - Pure & Simple
Where it all started for Kym Marsh, Myleene Klass and Suzanne Shaw - the single reached number 1 and is it any surprise? We still love this song now.
13. Shakira - Whenever, Wherever
Everyone's girl crush. Whenever, Wherever has to be one of Shakira's best songs - the sea, the sand, the mountains. It is so extra but we love it.
14. S Club 7 - Don't Stop Movin'
The song of our school discos - hearing "don't stop movin' to the funky funky beat" and knowing we were all going to be up dancing. Nothing can beat S Club 7 at a disco.
15. Blue - All Rise
The choreographed dancing and the lighting. So simple but so effective. We all wanted to look as cool as them.
16. Daniel Bedingfield - Gotta Get Thru This
Daniel Bedingfield getting us through our heartbreak since 2001, giving us the motivation we needed.
17. Nelly - Ride Wit Me
"HEY, MUST BE THE MONEY". The only five words you need to know in this song - did anyone actually know the rest of the words to the rap?
18. P!nk - Get the Party Started
This was definitely the song to get the party started, and the music video shows the realities of getting ready for a party - standing around in your towel, singing into your hairdryer, hundreds of outfit changes, before finally leaving. We've all been there.
19. DJ Piper & The Masters of Ceremonies - Do You Really Like It
"DO YOU REALLY LIKE IT, IS IT, IS IT WICKED... WE'RE LOVIN' IT, LOVIN' IT, LOVIN' IT, WE'RE LOVIN' LIKE THAT... "
20. Mary J. Blige - Family Affair
Fun fact: this was the song to knock J.Lo and Alicia Keys off the top two spots of the charts, who between them had spent eleven weeks at the top - Alicia was there for six weeks in total and J.Lo was there for five. Mary J. Blige took over for six consecutive weeks. One of the best songs to come out of 2001.

Robbie Williams - Rock DJ
We'd be lying if we said we don't catch ourselves YouTubing the video on our lunch break on a weekly basis. It's the tiger pants. They do things to us.
Britney Spears - Oops!... I Did It Again
The undisputed princess of pop kicked off her second album campaign with this absolute banger, and we're still on the hunt for a well-tailored red leather catsuit two decades later.
Eminem - Stan
We still know the actual entire rap and Dido's chorus word-for-word. CHALLENGE US.
LeAnn Rimes - Can't Fight the Moonlight
The soundtrack to Coyote Ugly, our childhood and exactly how we imagine we look when we attempt to dance on the bar in Yates's before Simon from security gives us that disappointed glare. Chill out, Simon. We're slaves to the music.
*NSYNC - Bye Bye Bye
Still the biggest of break-up bangers to this day, to be honest.
Kylie Minogue - Spinning Around
We once got caught using kitchen foil as a substitute for that pair of gold hot pants and we're not even sorry 'bout it. What? You've just got to improvise sometimes.
Linkin Park - In the End
For our more emo days, when we caught Damon kissing Saskia behind the bike sheds or found ourselves in detention for painting our nails. That kinda thing.
The Corrs - Breathless
Hands up if you remember Ant, Dec and Cat Deeley's hilarious The Corrs spoof on SM
Ronan Keating - Life is a Rollercoaster
And, just like that, Ronan provided enough content for those inspirational quote Instagram accounts to last a lifetime.
Anastacia - I'm Outta Love
Anastacia wasn't taking any shiz, and nor were we wags finger.
Craig David - 7 Days
Craig essentially invented the concept of the calendar week, let's be honest.
S Club 7 - Reach
The school disco self-empowerment ANTHEM we never knew we needed.
Westlife - My Love
"OVER SEAS FROM COAST TO COAAAST, TO FIND A PLACE I LOVE THE MOOOST..."
Madonna - Music
In hindsight, Madonna's cowgirl era was potentially our favourite Madge reinvention ever. Lil Nas X could never.
Spice Girls - Holler
Quite the departure from Stop and Spice Up Your Life, Holler earned the Spice Girls some cool Y2K points as they teamed up with trendy R&B producer Darkchild.
Shaggy - Angel
'Closer than my peeps you are to me' remains a completely-unrivalled show of affection. So deep.
Backstreet Boys - Shape of My Heart
We're assuming said shape is kind of...oval. Tends to be how it works.
All Saints - Black Coffee
Inventors of the double espresso and the reason we could probably do with some tooth whitening strips. Cheers, All Saints. CHEERS.
Bon Jovi - It's My Life
Arguably about 9000x better than Livin' on a Prayer, but y'know...
Spiller featuring Sophie Ellis-Bextor - Groovejet (If This Ain't Love)
Fun fact: this one robbed Victoria Beckham of the top spot as she went head-to-head with Truesteppers and Dane Bowers collab Out of Your Mind. Also a banger.
