I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here! made the dramatic move to North Wales for this series with travel into and out of Australia, where it’s normally filmed, suspended indefinitely.
The show will follow a similar format, with campmates completing challenges to win food for the group and crowned King or Queen of the Castle, for the first time.
The castle in question is Gwrych Castle in Abergele, but locals are already fuming after ITV shut down local footpaths for work on the set ahead of filming.
While the line-up of this year’s celebs is yet to be announced, crew have already been at the site for a number of months, and locals have taken to social media to fume at the significant disruption to their area.
Alongside a photo of a sign reading, “The entire estate is closed to the public”, one user typed, “Ant and Dec closed down Abergele Castle footpaths in North Wales – do us a favour, get yourselves out of here, we don’t need you.”

Holly Hagan spills the tea on Geordie Shore’s 10th anniversary reunion
We suppose the Welsh countryside is lacking a bit of in space compared to the Australian outback.
Despite relocating to the UK for 2020, just weeks ago the certainty of this series airing at all was thrown into doubt again when Wales went back into a strict “circuit breaker” lockdown.
But in a statement from Grywch Castle’s twitter account read, "Following the announcement today from the First Minister, the overriding message is that filming CAN continue in Wales providing related activity cannot be undertaken from home, and there is full compliance with Welsh law."
