Gogglebox veteran Julie Malone has branded one of her co-stars a “pain in the backside” as she paid tribute to them on their birthday in an, actually, rather adorable social media post.
The co-star in question was none other than Julie’s husband Tom Sr (not to be confused with their son Tom Malone Jr), who celebrated growing another year older and wiser this week.
Alongside a sweet photo of them together, Julie wrote, “Happy birthday to my other half, my pain in the backside, the person who comes on ghost hunts with me even though he is terrified.
“Thanks for all you do for us all, love Julie.”
Julie and Tom Sr have appeared on Gogglebox alongside their son Shaun since 2014. They were also joined by Tom Jr until he quit the show in 2020. Following Tom Jr’s exit, daughter Vanessa sometimes joins the family on their sofa.
The Malones are one of the longest-running families on the Channel 4 show, succeeded only by Stephen Webb who first appeared all the way back in series one and now stars alongside his husband Daniel Lustig.
Best known for their enviable cake selection and their lovely pet pooches, the Malone family have been on our screens for almost a decade and have became huge fan favourites.

He wrote in the caption, "So after 6 and a half years it’s finally time to put down the remote, and to say goodbye to Gogglebox.
"I've loved every minute and I’m eternally grateful to @channel4 and @studiolambert for allowing me to be a part of the show. But new opportunities are knocking on the door and it’s time to explore them."
