This year’s I’m a Celeb line-up is absolutely stacked; we’ve got the nation’s favourite WAG Coleen Rooney, McFly’s Danny Jones and Dancing on Ice’s Oti Mabuse, not to mention the rumoured latecomer Maura Higgins of Love Island 2019 fame. Joining them is Tulisa, who was a staple on our TVs in the 2010s but has been out of the public eye for quite a while.
So, here’s everything you need to know about her before tuning into the show, you’re welcome.
Who is Tulisa?
Tulisa is a singer, songwriter, rapper and presenter. She rose to fame as one third of the band N-Dubz alongside her cousin Dappy and their pal Fazer. She was also a judge on The X Factor for two years, 2011 and 2012, where her female boss tattoo was the highlight of our Saturday nights.
What is Tulisa's real name?
So it turns out, Tulisa's real name is actually Tula Contostavlos but she's well known as her middle name Tulisa.
How old is Tulisa?
Tulisa is 36 years old. She was born 13 July, making her a cancer.
Is Tulisa still in N-Dubz?
The band were originally formed in 2000 and made music for eleven years. After an eleven year hiatus, N-Dubz reunited in 2022 and are still going strong.
What is Tulisa’s real name?
Although Tulisa is usually known by just her first name — à la Cher or Madonna— her last name is Contostavlos.
Who has Tulisa dated?
Tulisa has previously dated Cher's music producer nephew David King, former footballer Danny Simpson, and Skins’ Jack O’Connor. She was also rumoured to have had a fling with The Wanted’s Max George. She is currently single, and opened up in 2023 about how she has been celibate for two years and wants a monogamous relationship before she sleeps with anyone new.
Will Tulisa be on I’m a Celeb?
Yes, Tulisa is one of the campmates for I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here 2024. She confessed that although she’s nervous— ‘I am going to need more than hypnotisation to help me as there will be a lot of stuff I am scared of in there!’— she believes that the small portions won’t bother her because she regularly fasts at home.
‘I always like fasting for health purposes. Sometimes I spend a week eating lentils, so I don’t think it is going to bug me as much as others.'
What did Tulisa say about showering on I’m a Celeb?
The outdoor shower— made famous by Myleene Klass’s white bikini back in 2006— has long been a feature on I'm a Celeb. This year, Tulisa explained that she will not be taking part, and will choose black swimwear so the camera doesn't linger when she's washing up. She said, ‘I am going to pack three plain bikinis, as I don’t want to draw attention to myself. I am not going to step out in white. It will be the polar opposite and if someone can hold up a towel then I will [ask them].’
ITV bosses then explained that the shower will no longer be a staple of the show. Honestly, we thought Nigel Farage’s bare arse would have cut that short in 2023, but alas.
Why was Tulisa arrested?
In 2013, Tulisa was arrested on suspicion that she had supplied Class A drugs to an undercover journalist called Mazher Mahmood, also known as the ‘Fake Sheikh,’ a charge she denied. The journalist, who calls himself the ‘king of the sting’, posed as an influential film producer who wanted to cast her in a Hollywood blockbuster. He met her in London, where she allegedly gave him a contact to buy cocaine.
The singer was arrested and stood trial the following year. However, the trial fell apart when the judge said the case couldn’t continue because there were ‘strong grounds to believe’ that Mr Mahmood had lied at a hearing before the trial started. The journalist was then ‘suspended pending an internal investigation’ and he was jailed for 15 months. Later, the President of the Irish High Court said that Tulisa had been ‘cruelly deceived in a shabby sting operation.’
Does Tulisa have Bell's palsy?
Yes, in 2020 Tulisa was diagnosed with Bell's palsy. This is a condition that causes temporary weakness or lack of movement, usually on one side of the face.
Does Tulisa have Instagram?
She does, and you can follow her at @tulisacontostavlos.
