Self-care will forever be our favourite hobby but we appreciate that recharging and putting yourself first looks different for everyone. Each week, we'll ask the celeb lot to share their ideal self-care Sunday routines, the hard-working beauty products they recommend to their friends and which TV show they're currently binging…

This week it's all about Amy Hart, the Love Island series five icon known for wearing her heart on her sleeve, being laugh-out-loud hilarious and someone we would want to be BFFs with IRL.

Despite a tough ride in the villa, five years on, Amy seems happier than ever. She's engaged to Sam Ranson and both are parents to one-year-old son, Stanley. And as a proud P&O ambassador, she loves to share her new-found passion for cruises with her one million Instagram followers.

In her latest project, she's teamed up with the BAFTA Television Awards and P&O Cruises to help decide which TV moment should be crowned 'Most Memorable Moment' in this year's ceremony.

The six nominations for the award, chosen by the public, include Victoria Beckham referring to her upbringing as 'working class', Doctor Who's Ncuti Gatwa reveal and Logan Roy's death in Succession. (You can vote here up until the 9th of April 2024.)

To celebrate, Amy chats exclusively to heat about her beauty wedding prep, drag queen Sundays and the life-changing book she read before going on Love Island...

On self-care

What does the ultimate self-care day look like for the former Islander now she's a mum?

"I’m very lucky my little boy is the easiest baby in the world. I’m not just saying that, all my friends are like, ‘How did you end up with this child?” My little boy lays in, he goes to bed between half 8 and half 9 and lays in till around half 8 or half nine.

We like a lazy Sunday because our lives are so busy. We do love a roast dinner. If I don’t get a roast dinner on a Sunday for whatever reason, then I have to go for one on a Monday. I once told that to Nicole Scherzinger during a podcast episode and she was like, ‘You can get a roast on a Monday?!” I replied, “It’s called the Toby Carvery, Nicole.” I had to explain the concept of a Toby Carvery to her.

"I like to do some skincare, I use the Elemis Pro-Collagen Cleansing Balm and a lot of Medik8 as I’m trying to get my skin nice for the wedding. I like to lay in my PJs all day, if I don’t have anywhere to be then I won’t get dressed. I love Chelsea Peers' pyjamas, the whole family got matching pyjamas from them. They’re really soft - we still wear them now. "

"My all-time favourite self-care Sunday is when I got to Drag Queen Sundays in Brighton. It’s basically a circuit of bars and all the punters go round together. You go for a roast dinner, then you go to Legends and there's a drag queen on at half past three. Then you go to Affinity. Then you go to The Queen’s Arms and then Charles Street Tap and back to The Queen’s Arms!"

On wedding beauty prep

"There's a lot, so I have started to have my Botox redone again. I'm very open about having Botox and I want to put it out there, I don't have any fillers. Everyone always thinks I have lip filler but my lips are asymmetrical so if I had lip filler, I'd make them symmetrical. I just use a lot of lipliner like a pantomime dame!

"I've also tried Profilo and I love microneedling, which is a game-changer for improving my skin texture. I got to Lips and Lines Aesthetics, but I just have the lines, not the lips!"

On budget beauty buys

"I only ever use Real Techniques Beauty Blenders and they're a lot more affordable than the real ones.

"My make-up artist always uses the HBN Airbrush concealer on me which I love. I also love Rimmel lip-liners - I swear by them. I use theshade Spiceand I love that they are cheap as I have so many handbags and they're full of them."

On daily wellness habits

Does Amy have any daily non-negotiables that help her feel her best self?

"I'm really trying! This girl popped up on my Instagram and she’s got four boys and she gets up at 5 am in the morning and does a full body workout before his kids wake up. I tried and it’s not for me. I’m 'all the gear and no idea', really!

"I’ve recently bought a walking pod and it’s been sat in the hallway for two weeks in the box and now it’s been propped up in my lounge for four weeks. I will get around to it eventually.

"I like going to the gym and I’m a bit weird because I’ve realised the key to getting me into zone five on my Apple Watch on the cross trainer is to listen to old-school party cheese, like Agadoo and Do The Conga. If I put that music on, I can absolutely smash it on the cross trainer."

On nutrition

"For wedding prep, I'm also working with the nutritionist, Rhiannon Lambert. I had all her books before I went on Love Island and she followed me on Instagram when I got out and she's been my nutritionist ever since.

"We're working on getting rid of ultra-processed foods. I loved these particular yoghurts, but could only eat three of them at a time, not one and she said it's because it's got something in it which makes you want more and more.

"I was calorie counting for four weeks, really strictly and didn't lose any weight at all. She then said, "Okay, don't do the calorie counting, just don't eat any ultra-processed foods for two weeks" and I lost two kilos. I'm working with her and I'm trying to eat more plants. I'm trying to eat more whole food, have my big meal at lunchtime and add things like quinoa. That's really helped change my skin as well, doing the inside-out thing."

On life-changing books

"I loved Leah Rimini's book. She was a Scientologist for 20 years and she left and then wrote a book about leaving. My dad told me, 'You've got to read this book' and I read it in lockdown for Love Island in two days. Since then I've been obsessed with different religions.

"I've read books like The Secret and stuff. I believe in manifesting, but I think you need to work at it. I never said 'I'm applying for Love Island', I always said, "I'm going on Love Island.'

"People would be like, "Are you?" And I would be like, "Well I've sent off my application form" and they'll be like, "So you're not then!"

"I think channelling that mindset took away from that nervous energy and kept me very calm."

Quickfire round:

What show are you currently watching? Celebrity Big Brother, I'm obsessed. I would love to go on next year, but would be sad I wouldn't be able to make friends with Sharon Osbourne.

How do you like your cuppa? Hot chocolate, I don't drink tea or coffee. My favourite one ever, ever, ever is from Tavern on the Green in New York.

Go-to loungewear brand? I love the In The Style loungewear, but I also love a Juicy Couture tracksuit.

Everyday perfume? I love La Vie est Belle, I love Jo Malone's English Pear and Freesia. Missguided also do an amazing one called Babe Night and you buy it at B&M.

Go-to takeaway order? A fake Nando's by us because where we live is not great for delivery. When I get to London, I'm an absolute menace!

Favourite candle? Bath & Body Works in Black Tie.

Voting is now open for the P&O Cruises Memorable Moment Award, presented as part of the BAFTA TV Awards. The BAFTA TV Awards take place on Sunday, May 12.
