So, it's that time of the month again and all hell is breaking loose. Your emotions are flying off the wall, your stomach feels like someone just dumped a tonne of bricks on it, and your skin, well, don't even mention it.

Hormonal skin is a pain in every woman's ass. It's not enough to ride the crimson wave every 28 days, oh no, mother nature likes us to really feel her wrath with the gift of breakouts galore, too.

Blemishes, blackheads - you name it, we've had 'em. Of course, you might be one of the lucky ones. You know, the ones with two day periods, glowing skin and not even a tingle of pain. If this is you, you have won at life. Congratulations.

For the rest of us, period skin is something that we've just come to accept. It comes, it goes, and that's just the reality of it. Or is it...?

Enter Period Faace.

Period Faace has just launched on Cult Beauty and it's the answer to our hormone-fuelled prayers.

With a mix of moisture-boosting hyaluronic acid, anti-inflammatory salicin (salicylic acid's more gentle cousin) and calming green tea, Period Faace works to even out your skin mayhem at both the oily and dry ends of the spectrum. Plus, it smells like the inside of a spa - who doesn't love a bit of aromatherapy?

The product can be used as an overnight mask or an under make-up primer and is designed to be "faff-free." Because, let's face it, when your cramps have left you curled up in a ball and a hot water bottle is the only thing that'll relieve the pain, the last thing you want to be doing is a ten-step skincare routine.

And, to top it all off, for every mask that's sold the brand will donate a pack of period products through social enterprise Hey Girls. Great, right?

The founder of Faace, Jasmine Wicks-Stephens said, "I don’t think having a period should be something to feel ashamed of and I hope that having something on your shelf called ‘period’ kind of helps to normalise them even more.

"Why shouldn’t you have a cool looking product to help you combat your period?"

We couldn't agree more.

The serum I always recommend for dehydrated skin

Now that you're on your way to a, well, slightly less sh**ty period, it's time to tackle your skin's general concerns.

Excessive oil? Your cleanser can't shift your make-up?

Yep, we've heard it all before and we've got all the solutions.

For normal to oily skin types, why not try the Vichy Aqualia Thermal serum? It tackles dehydration (the root cause of most oily skins) and it's a super lightweight serum for everyday use. It's a win, win.

And, if your cleanser is, to put it lightly, c**p, why not try the cleansing balm our shopping team swear by? We promise it won't leave even a trace of your make-up and it'll leave your face feeling calmed and glowy. Mmm.
