Fashion Week has been and gone, which means that we've received an INFLUX of inspo for what's trending for the upcoming spring/summer 2022 season. The main insight? Mini skirts are back. But not just any mini skirt - the ultra mini skirt.

Mini skirts first made their appearance in the 60s, as a playful rebellion in the form of fashion. After that, the mini-skirt trend resurfaced as a staple in Y2K fashion - think Britney, Paris and Beyonce circa the 2000s, and memories of those (traumatising, yet iconic) red carpet looks will come flooding back.

If we've learned anything about fashion in the last few years, it's that Y2K trends have a tendency for creeping back up, so we were less than shocked that the super-mini skirts saw a revival during fashion week. It all started with Miu Miu sending models down the runway in tiny mini skirts, and designers such as Dion Leen and Laquan Smith followed suit.

If we're being honest, we love a Y2K throwback, and while we won't be digging up our old low-rise jeans just yet, the mini skirt is a naughties trend we can definitely get on board with.

To help you shop the highly anticipated trend, we've found the very best mini skirts on the high street, as well as some great sustainable options. Shop our top picks below.
