The best drinking games to play on Zoom

It's time to elevate the Zoom quiz

It's gotten to that point of lockdown where we're all thoroughly quizzed out. It's safe to say we're very much missing a good old night out and so we thought we'd try to re-create the magic of pre-drinks with these Zoom-friendly drinking games.

Two truths one lie

This is a great game to play with friends you might only just be getting to know. In this game, each player has to make up three sentences about themselves, two that are true and one lie. Each player says their three sentences and have to decide which of the other players' sentences are true and which are false. All those who got the answers wrong have to drink.

Uno

Although this one might not be your typical drinking game, a round (or five) of Uno is a super fun way to play a board game remotely, with the addition of alcohol and an app (or orange juice, whatever your vibe is). To make it into a drinking game, we suggest that when a power card is played (skip, reverse, draw 4) the person affected drinks. Also, the loser of the round should empty their glass.

Most Likely To

Most Likely To is a great game for you and your best pals to play, it's way more fun if you all know each other really well. Create a list of questions ahead of the game, or find a list online. One player acts as the host and asks the questions, get the other players to vote on who is most likely to do that thing. The player with the most votes drinks.

Never Have I Ever

This is a great game that still works well remotely. Someone says: "never have I ever...[insert something you haven't done]" and everyone who has done that thing drinks. For example "Never have I ever watched Love Island", everyone drinks.

Ring of Fire

This classic still works well over Zoom, you'll be pleased to know. You can use an online pack of cards, found here. To keep things from getting too complicated when you're playing this remotely, we recommend everyone taking a sip when Jack, Queen or King are drawn from the pack. Here's a quick recap of the rules.

Netflix Party

You could use Netflix Party to play all kinds of drinking games. Think up the rules beforehand , (e.g a Friends themed drinking game where you drink every time Joey goes on a date) head to Netflix Party and start a Zoom call so you can all see each other and feel like you're in the same room.

How to have the best Zoom party EVER

  1. Be prepared. If you can, decide on the game beforehand and make sure you've got the right websites and equipment (we're talking pens and paper, nothing too serious)
  1. Gather your besties. Drinking games are hard enough when you barely know the people you're doing them with, this situation is only worse when you add in failing technology. Try these out with good friends if you can.
  1. Get the drinks in. Try out one of the alcohol delivery services we recommended above, or add some of your faves to your weekly essentials shop.
