What a night!” Adele tweeted as she left the BRIT Awards last week, laden with a bunch of new trophies to add to her sizable collection. But it wasn’t winning the Best Artist, Best Album, or Song Of The Year Award that made it such a special evening for the singer – it wasn’t even her epic live performance of I Drink Wine. It was the mahoosive diamond sparkler she wore proudly on her ring finger…
Walking the red carpet in a black velvet dress by Armani Privé, the 33 year old happily showed off the giant rock (rumoured to be worth $2million), leading fans to speculate if she was cooly announcing her engagement to sports agent Rich Paul.
Speaking for all of us, one excitable fan tweeted, “ADELE OH MY GOD wait a min – is she engaged?” Another wrote, “Guys, I think she is engaged omfg.” While a third gushed, “Ermm… did Adele just casually let the world know she’s engaged to Rich Paul by wearing this WHOPPER teardrop diamond ring at the Brits!?”

Maya Jama and Stormzy
After four years of dating, rapper Stormzy and TV presenter Maya Jama split up to focus on their careers.
An engagement announcement would put an end to the recent rumours of “trouble in paradise” for the pair, who have been dating for a year.
After the star cancelled her Weekends With Adele residency in Las Vegas last month – saying her show “wasn’t ready”, and blaming COVID for delays – many sources claimed it could have more to do with Rich, 40. Insiders told US outlets that she had been seen crying on set and running off during rehearsals to take calls from her boyfriend.
It was later reported Adele – who shares custody of her nine-year-old son Angelo with her ex, Simon Konecki– was desperately “trying to save her relationship”.
Days after the claims, Adele attempted to shut them down by sharing a laughing picture of herself on Instagram and writing, “Oh, and Rich sends his love”.
When she appeared on The Graham Norton Show a few days after the BRITs with her ring still very much on show, she was coy about the engagement rumours, cryptically saying, “If I was, would I ever tell anyone if I was or wasn’t?”
Thankfully, Adele was much more open about her plans to start a family with Rich next year, revealing she will be rescheduling her Vegas dates before that.
Oooh! More news!
Explaining that she didn’t want to put on a “half-arsed” show, Adele revealed, “It is absolutely 100 per cent happening this year. It has to happen this year, because I’ve got plans for next year. Imagine if I have to cancel becauseI’m having a baby… It takes me a while to recharge, and I would like to have more children – I only just feel like I’ve caught up with my sleep from nine years ago when I had my son.”
And while fans are still annoyed at the cancellation of the Vegas shows, Adele has promised she won’t disappear again for years, like she has done previously.

“I definitely will, but I am trying to make a conscious effort to stop being so anal with my privacy,” she said. “I’m trying not to be two completely different versions of myself. It is exhausting switching on and off. I will be disappearing in terms of my music, but you might see a glimpse of me now and then and I won’t be in complete hiding.”
Maybe she can use that time to start planning her wedding...
