Sammy Kimmence, the boyfriend of Love Island winner Dani Dyer, has been sentenced to 42 months in prison after he plead guilty to scamming two pensioners out of £34,000 at Portsmouth Crown Court in April.

The former stockbroker posed as a financial investor and persuaded Peter Haynes, 81, and Peter Martin, who died last year at the age of 91, to allow him to invest £33,919 of their money after falsely claiming he was authorised to provide financial services.

But instead, Sammy used the money to buy designer clothes, pay off his overdraft and take a trip to Ibiza, while one victim was left “living on the breadline”.

The 25 year old, who welcomed a son called Santiago with Dani in January, sobbed in court as he was sentenced to jail time.

Judge Timothy Mousley QC told him, “You didn’t show any remorse immediately and I do not consider any remorse to be profound.

“You defrauded two men of significant sums of money, both were elderly gentlemen, neither was a wealthy man.

"Whilst these men trusted you, you used their money to fund your lifestyle.”

“This is a very unpleasant fraud against two men who Mr Kimmence deliberately targeted,” prosecutor Michael Mason told the court.

Sammy, who told the court he had saved up £10,000 to repay his victims, was ordered to serve at least half his sentence before being released.

Last year it was claimed that Dani was “terrified” of Sammy facing jail time shortly after welcoming their son into the world.

“Dani is upset, worried, terrified. Without a court date they kind of pushed this all to the back of their minds - now it is very real,” a source said of Dani, who was heavily pregnant at the time.

“She’s expecting a child with a bloke who could go to prison. Her baby is due at the end of January and then Sammy will up in court a few weeks later. Those first few weeks of having a newborn baby are so special but it will also be the countdown to his trial,” they added to The Sun.
