It was reported last month that JoJo Siwa had split from her girlfriend Kylie Prew and now the YouTuber has spoken out to address the rumours for the first time.
JoJo has confirmed that she and Kylie, who first began dating back in January when JoJo came out as a member of the LGBTQ+ community, are sadly no longer an item during an appearance on Paris Hilton’s podcast This Is Paris.
While the former couple are no longer romantically involved, it seems there’s no bad blood between them as JoJo revealed they’re still in contact and will remain friends.
She told Paris, “I have yet to talk about this officially, publicly, but we broke up.
“But she is literally still my best friend. I talked to her yesterday, she just got a new puppy. She’s awesome. She’s having the time of her life, I’m having the time of my life.
“I’m really lucky that I didn’t lose her completely because, you know, even though relationships end, friendships don’t have to end.”

JoJo continued, “I was very happy that it can be, because that’s all I wanted. But I’m really happy that I remember all the fun times, all the good times, and nothing bad happened, it just is the definition of a cheesy saying of ‘right person, wrong time’ and I hate cheesy sayings, but they’re true.
“But everything’s good, I’m good.”

The social media star hinted that their ages and busy schedules were behind the break-up as she added, “We’re both so young, she’s 17, I’m 18, and we are literally best friends. And I would take a bullet for her, and I know she would do the same for me. We just — literally, right person, wrong time.”
JoJo is currently competing on the latest series of Dancing With the Stars (the US equivalent of Strictly) and recently appeared to reference her split with Kylie on the show when she opened up about a “tough” week.
She said, “What goes on in my personal life every day is something. However, this week was very, very extreme and something that I had never gone through and something that I’ve never felt before. And it’s tough and it’s tricky, but luckily I have really good people in my life. And I’m really lucky that every day this week I got to spend three hours with my best friend in rehearsals and we got to dance.”
The 18 year old also left fans convinced she’d moved on from her ex with her dance partner Jenna Johnson when they posted a cosy training session selfie on Instagram. “I think those two like each other,” one commented on the snap, while another of JoJo’s followers added, “Cutest couple ❤️.”
The rumours were only fuelled when a DWTS insider told The Sun, “Kylie became jealous of the relationship JoJo has fostered with Jenna. JoJo is a mess. I think JoJo has always been a workhorse, but having a relationship and trying to keep up with a massive star schedule - it's a challenge.”
