They say that couples under lockdown are either busy breaking up or making babies... but it seems there’s a third option, at least if you’re Laura Whitmore and Iain Stirling.
Last week, the Love Island dream team sent fans into a frenzy of speculation that Iain had proposed after Laura was spotted out on her daily walk rocking a dazzling yellow diamond on her ring finger.
Hopefully, he got down on one knee next to a makeshift fire-pit, after making an epic speech about why she’s 100 per cent his type on paper. Well, one can dream.
The besotted pair, who began dating in 2017 and moved in together last year, have been keeping fans entertained with their candid clips of lockdown life in their London pad. Clearly, they’ve graduated to brand-new levels of intimacy during their time in quarantine – both trusting one another enough to style each other’s hair, and taking on daring acrobatic challenges that we can only half-watch through our fingers.

“At the start, I was worried, very worried,” she explained. “We live together, but we don’t see a lot of each other. What I have discovered is that I quite like my boyfriend. It’s such a huge relief as I wasn’t sure which way it was going to go.”
She added that their tiny dog Mick was a bit more of a handful. “My dog is a pain in the arse,” she joked. “He just follows me everywhere. Boyfriend is OK, dog is a little bit of a nightmare.”
The Irish-Scottish power couple have kept their romance fairly low-key over the past few years, but in January, they melted hearts when they teamed up for winter Island – with Laura taking on presenting duties, while Iain continued his narrating gig.
We honestly couldn’t get enough of Iain’s adoring quips about Laura as she slow-mo strutted into the villa. It was very clear then that he liked what he saw – and it’s crystal (or should we say diamond) clear now that he’s put a ring on it.
