As he entered the Love Island villa, it was revealed that semi-pro footballer Finn Tapp hadn’t told his club Oxford City FC he was flying to Cape Town to appear on the show and his career was thrown into question once again when he revealed plans to move to Manchester with girlfriend Paige Turley after winning the show.

Oxford City manager Justin Merritt told the BBC that he expected Finn to “finish his contract” once he was back in the UK but it’s now been revealed that the 20-year-old has quit the club to concentrate on more showbiz pursuits.

A source told The Sun, “Finn was due back at Oxford and the managers there had made that clear, but he has other ideas.

“He has managed to get out of his contract so won't be playing for them again.

“He said he really wants to concentrate on Paige right now and the pair have started house hunting in Manchester.”

However, Finn hasn’t ruled out returning to the club completely, with his representative adding, “We have been in regular contact with Oxford City and they understand and appreciate that Finn's work commitments and schedule makes it very difficult for him to have involvement for the remainder of this season which they understand.

“The door is open for Finn to return to Oxford City when his schedule allows him.”

When he appeared on heat’s Under the Duvet with VOXI, Finn told us he “definitely” wants to carry on playing football.

Spilling the beans on that contract dispute, Finn told us, “It's not what it's being made out to be. I do definitely want to keep going with football. I did miss playing it [in the villa].”

Finn and runner-up Luke Trotman, who’s also a semi-pro footballer, even suggested they could get a Love Island five-a-side team together with fellow finalist Luke Mabbott.

Finn did throw some shade at Oxford City though, joking about playing for their rivals Oxford United instead.

“I wish I played for Oxford United, they're the higher ones. They're pro - I never made that because of my knee injury,” Finn said.

That’s not likely to go down well at the training ground, hun.
