Love Island 2018 star Megan Barton-Hanson has spoken out about feeling "free" since coming off anti-depressants after four years.
Megan – who earlier this year spoke to Closer about coping with poor mental health for our Where’s Your Head At campaign – took to her Instagram to share the news, despite denying she was on the medication previously.
"I wasn't going to share this, as I've denied being on antidepressants in past interviews," she wrote.
"I saw it as a weakness, which in hindsight it was the opposite, I struggled with accepting help and asking for it because I didn't know why I felt depressed and anxious."

She went on to thank her friends for supporting her through the transition, "Even tho…I ignore your whatapps for day’s because I couldn’t deal with getting out of bed!
"I’m so proud to finally say I’m off antidepressants after 4 YEARS and I wouldn’t have been able to do it with out you all," she continued.
"After relying on them for so long I was petrified of ever missing one. I would get the shakes and panic if I forgot one."

Admitting that she even took them during Love Island, hoping no one would notice, she concluded, "I feel so free and like the dark cloud has finally gone, I was so used to them I forgot what life before them in a good headspace actually felt like."
Megan went through a tough time earlier this year after her very public split from Love Island boyfriend Wes Nelson, leaving fans concerned after she admitted “my whole world is crumbling”.
Things looked brighter when she began dating TOWIE’s Demi Sims after meeting on Celebs Go Dating, but that wasn’t to last either and Megan was papped looking downcast after their break up.
