After an emotional week that saw her breaking down in tears on her vlog, following a vicious backlash after she was branded ‘out of touch’, sources tell us Love Island's Molly-Mae Hague and Tommy Fury - who met on Love Island 2019 - are planning a make-or-break getaway to escape the furore.
‘Molly-Mae is really looking forward to a holiday away with Tommy and Bambi, so she can shut herself off from the world a bit,’ we’re told. ‘Her recent meltdown had been brewing for a long time. The last year or so has been hellish and a lot of emotion just came out.’
The influencer, 26, was criticised for ‘always complaining’ after she moaned that she hadn’t done ‘one fun thing’ this summer and claimed she has ‘no social life’ – despite recent no-expense-spared trips to Dubai, Disneyland Paris and Budapest, and a holiday in an £86k motorhome on the Isle of Man. Molly-Mae’s rant on her YouTube channel sparked backlash on social media, with one mum saying, ‘We’re witnessing the downfall of Molly-Mae.’

The millionaire reality star – who makes an estimated £48k a week from her business ventures and brand partnerships, and lives in a £4million mansion – admitted she was ‘embarrassed’ after her ‘meltdown’, but also stood firm against the haters.
‘I’m trying so, so hard to stay positive and have a really nice day,’ she said, defiantly adding, ‘I don’t care who tells me I am out of touch with reality or all this stuff that’s going on on TikTok at the minute.’
Our source says, ‘Right now, Molly-Mae really just needs to escape. She’s happiest when it is just her, Tommy and Bambi, so the idea of spending quality time with them is keeping her going.’

This latest holiday comes six months after Molly-Mae reunited with ex-fiancé Tommy, 26, following their split in August 2024. And our insider says this getaway will be an important part of the healing process. We’re told, ‘Molly and Tommy have not really had any proper time to focus on being a family again. Things still aren’t like they used to be, but this holiday is a big step on the road back to normality.’
And while we’re told it’s still too soon for Tommy to feature on any of her socials, our source says, things are moving in a positive direction. ‘Molly-Mae and Tommy both think they can come out of this stronger. After all they’ve been through, they believe they really can go the distance.’
