Rebekah Vardy has vowed to “clear her name” as she joins the line-up for series 13 of Dancing On Ice.

The former I’m A Celeb star appeared on Good Morning Britain earlier today (29 September) to confirm she was taking part in the ITV skating show alongside the likes of Myleene Klass and Denise Van Outen when host Piers Morgan joked that she “was used to skating on thin ice”.

The mum-of-five, who is suing Coleen Rooney for libel after she alleged Rebekah’s Instagram account was responsible for leaking stories about her, then opened up about her “tough” legal battle with her fellow WAG.

Piers asked, “Everyone's talking about it. It's hard for legal reasons, but is this going to happen?”

Rebekah then explained, “Look, we tried to sort things out amicably and it just didn't work.

“I understand people think it's ridiculous, but what was I meant to do? I need to clear my name, I want to clear my name and I will do whatever that takes and I hope that it's going to be resolved soon.”

Although she admitted her feud with Coleen had been hard, the 38-year-old added, “To be fair, Piers, in comparison to what some of the people have gone through with covid and things it's incomparable.”

In court papers filed earlier this year, Rebekah insisted that she had been made a “scapegoat” by Coleen and claimed that she had leaked her own stories.

Becky, who was pregnant at the time of the accusations, says she feared for her unborn child and spoke of her “extreme anguish” about being exposed “to public ridicule and contempt” by Coleen after she was targeted by online trolls, as well as football fans making up songs about her when Jamie played.

Speaking about her decision to take part on Dancing On Ice, Rebekah told Piers and his co-host Susanna Reid, “My dad taught me how to stand up on a pair of skates, at least, when I was about seven years old. We used to go skating a lot when he picked us up when my mum and dad split up and we'd go and stay with him for the weekend.

“He used to take us to the local ice rink so it's a really fun family thing for us to have done together. So I'm really excited actually!”

And when asked what her husband Jamie thought of her taking part, she added, “He thought it was such a brilliant idea.”
