It’s hard to believe how much Scarlett Moffatt has achieved in the last few years, since her life-changing bit part on Gogglebox. And her success story is all the more impressive when you hear what a challenging time she had growing up. The TV star opened up last week about the horrendous bullying she experienced as a teenager, and how she finally got her revenge when she came face-to-face with her tormentors…
“I think the worst day was when one of the people who bullied me had kicked me in a puddle and I was just properly drenched,” said the 31 year old, who won I’m A Celeb in 2016, and later joined Ant & Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway as a co-presenter.
“I can remember feeling really let down. I remember going to the headteacher and pouring my heart and soul out… [They] actually made my life a living hell.”

Gogglebox star brands former co-star ‘a disgrace’ in swiftly-deleted rant
Speaking on Annie Mac’s Changes podcast, the Geordie star – who is an ambassador for the Samaritans – revealed that she once came face-to-face with one of her bullies.
She explained, “I still live in the village I grew up in and sometimes I see the people that used to bully me. When I’d just won I’m A Celebrity, I was in Asda and this girl came up to me and said, ‘You know, I’ve got two young girls and I keep telling them we were friends!’
"I just went, ‘I really hope your little girls never meet anyone like you when they’re at school,’ and I walked out. It felt like a mic-drop moment, but it was a basket. I dropped my basket and left.”

Another triumphant moment came when Scarlett – who’s loved-up with her partner of three years, police officer Scott Dobinson – brought out her first book, Scarlett Says, in 2016. It quickly became a number-one Sunday Times bestseller, and was followed a year later by her autobiography, Me Life Story: Sofa, So Good!.
The TV star says, “When I wrote my first book and it became a bestseller – not bragging – I was over the moon.
"And I actually wrote an inscription on one of my books that said, ‘Never give up on kids’. Then I wrote a quote my dad always says, which is, ‘Bullies are like sandpaper – the more they wear you down, the more polished you become’. I wrote that in my book and went up to my old school and said, ‘This is for the headteacher’. And I literally walked away like that Breakfast Club moment.”
Clearly, revenge is a dish best served with a side of 2million followers on Instagram.
