Move over Kim Cattrall and Sarah Jessica Parker – we’ve got a new celebrity feud on our hands. Step forward, Sharon Osbourne and Amanda Holden.
Everything kicked off when Amanda defended her pal Simon Cowell. Speaking in an interview, the radio presenter, 53, seemed to refer to Sharon and Louis Walsh’s negative comments on Celebrity Big Brother when she said, “I hated seeing certain people in a reality show dissing Simon. He’s the person who’s given them all the chances, given them a lot of money and a lifestyle they probably wouldn’t have had. It’s bitter and pathetic."
Quick to defend herself, Sharon, 71, took to X to respond directly to Amanda last week, writing, “The truth is, you don’t know me, Amanda. You know nothing about my history in the music industry, my achievements, the artists I have worked with, the shows that I’ve produced, and my global celebrity. Unlike you, the brand of Sharon Osbourne is known worldwide.” The long-form slam eventually concluded with, “The bottom line, Amanda, is you’ll never be in my league.” Ouch.
Amanda, 53, has since remained silent on the subject, apart from a spokesperson for the BGT judge saying, “Amanda will always defend those close to her,” but according to sources, there’s plenty more still to come from Sharon O. They tell heat, “Sharon has no one to protect but herself, and there’s no way she’s going to allow her name to be tarnished without being the last one to twist the knife. Amanda was initially flippant, but after being reminded of how influential and well-connected Sharon is, she’s starting to panic.”
Luckily for Amanda, the man at the centre of the drama, Simon, 64, has apparently thrown his support behind her. “Simon has assured Amanda that Sharon is all bark and no bite,” our insider says. “But while she’s doing her best to stay calm, she’s now terrified about what Sharon will say next. Sharon worked with Simon while he was on BGT with Amanda and they know a lot of the same people.
“Sharon’s the last person you want to get on the wrong side of, and she’s told friends Amanda is going to regret the day she decided to publicly sling mud at her.” Keep the popcorn coming…
