Shaughna Phillips has opened up about finding a lump on her breast in 2017, just months after her father had died from cancer.
Speaking about the scare ahead of her appearance on ITV's The Real Full Monty On Ice, the former Love Islander said that she had been due to have cosmetic surgery and found a lump in the weeks leading up to her breast lift.
She explained, "It was only six months after my dad had died from cancer so I remember thinking how on earth am I going to tell my mum who had just buried her husband that I had now found a lump."
Speaking to The Sun, Shaughna continued, "You instantly think the worst. I was terrified but I was honestly more scared for my mum than I was for myself.
"It again put everything into perspective because I went from worrying about what my boobs would look like after surgery to worrying if I had cancer."
After eventually telling her mum, Shaughna added that it was her mum who kept her calm throughout the process.
"I went to the doctors the next day with my mum and they said it was a blocked milk duct and my mum burst into tears," she explained.
Recently, Shaughna spoke out about losing her father, explaining that she wanted to go on The Real Full Monty On Ice to help people who are going or have gone through a similar thing.

She said, "When my dad was ill, I felt like no-one had any idea what I was going through, even my close friends.
"So, if anyone watching this [they] can then feel like they're not alone, I'd be so happy to be able to do that."
The 25 year old spoke about how her father's cancer had affected her family, explaining to viewers how it entirely changed her outlook on "what [she] thought was important."
"Cancer has affected me personally so this was the perfect show for me to raise awareness," she said.
The Real Full Monty On Ice episode two airs on ITV tonight (15 December) at 9pm.
