She’s a proud mum to four children, and now Victoria Beckham is ready to embrace becoming a grandma.
An insider tells heat that, two years after he got married, eldest son Brooklyn is preparing to start a family of his own with wife Nicola, and 50-year-old Vic has been offering her support.
"Both Brooklyn and Nicola have decided that they would like a baby sooner rather than later," our source reveals.
"Brooklyn has been broody for years, but Nicola always said she wasn’t ready, and now she is, so she’s turned to Vic for guidance. Nicola’s asked for lots of advice and Vic has been absolutely thrilled to give it."
While much has been said about the pair’s rumoured feud in the run-up to Brooklyn and Nicola’s Palm Beach wedding in 2022 – apparently due to a fallout over VB designing the dress – our source says they’re in a better place than ever.
We’re told, "They’ve had their ups and downs, but things are great between them, and Nicola knows Vic wants to be involved with any grandchildren as much as possible. Nicola is very close to her own mum and that’s who she naturally turns to, but she’s seen how well Vic has raised her own four kids. She is aware that she probably shut the Beckhams out of the wedding plans, and she knows that they will be over the moon to be grandparents."
Brooklyn, 25, hinted at his baby plans with Nicola, 29, as he marked their second wedding anniversary back in April.
"You are going to be the best mum someday, I can’t wait to have babies with you, baby girl. I will always and forever protect you and always keep you my number one," he wrote in a gushing Instagram post. He also previously revealed that he’d like to be a young dad, saying, "I would love to have a family soon, but whenever my wife is ready."
Meanwhile, Nicole said of her husband, "I love that he really wants to be a dad", before adding that she wanted a big family.
Earlier this year, Victoria, who is also mum to Romeo, 21, Cruz, 19, and Harper, 13, with husband David, 49, spoke about becoming a grandma. When asked if she was ready during an interview with Vogue, the former Spice Girl was coy, saying, "I don’t think it’s happening just yet, unless you guys know something that I don’t!"
Revealing what she’d want to be called if she did become a grandparent, she said, "The last time I was with Anna [Wintour, US Vogue’s editor] I was like, 'What do your grandchildren call you?' And she said to me, 'Anna'. And I was like, 'Well, that is very elegant.' So, maybe I’ll take that route. But it’s not happening just yet. But, you know, hopefully one day if I am blessed, then that would be wonderful."
Now, our source says, that VB has come around to the idea of having grandkids in the near future – and she’s more than prepared.
"Vic has baby stuff saved from when Brooklyn was little, which she’s ready to give to Nicola once they start a family of their own," we’re told.
"Both she and David really miss having babies and small kids running around, and while they were scared of being grandparents before, because it made them sound old, they cannot wait for that chapter of their lives. She’s joked to David they’ll be the cool, fun grandparents. And of course she’s doing everything possible to make sure she’ll be the hottest granny ever."
The insider adds, "A couple of years ago, they were terrified that they had lost Brooklyn and they would never have a close relationship with Nicola.
"So, Vic is so happy and relieved that she now feels she can talk to her about things like this and that she can have a hands-on role with her grandchildren."
