2021's been pretty uneventful so far, let's be honest. One thing that kept us pretty entertained for all of about 24 hours last week, though, was Wayne Lineker and Chloe Ferry's 'engagement' saga.
After the Celebs Go Dating: The Mansion pair literally broke the internet as Wayne claimed former Geordie Shore lass Chloe had 'said yes,' the jokers finally ended speculation as they confirmed the whole thing was nothing more than a 'wind up.'
And now - opening up on Instagram - Wayne's revealed that the situation started after they 'got drunk one night' and 'one thing led to another.'
Ooh and, indeed, err.
Feeling he owed us all an explanation, Wayne took to Instagram Stories to say, "Chloe and I were going to do a spoof engagement in the [Celebs Go Dating] house, because she had a wedding ring, we got drunk one night and she went 'come on, let's put it out there. We're going to get married'
"So we took the pictures and everything...and it never happened. We didn't post it in the end. She called me the other day and said 'shall we do it, not just for a laugh but to see what the abuse is."

"In the past I have been a very, very toned down person so this time I went in no fucks given, done what I want, said what I wanted," he told The Sun"This time I am just me. I was the only single lad in there so I did what I wanted."

She was engaged to childhood sweetheart John Noble but they split in 2018 after he was caught cheating, but she's now happier than ever with one time TOWIE star Ercan Ramadan.

And WHAT a career this Geordie has had. From winning Celebrity Big Brother to landing a cameo appearance in Neighbours to even having a girlfriend (well, for a bit), he's definitely seen success in the media industry.

Tired Anna handed the boss baton to Scotty T (god knows why and it wasn't long as he was soon suspended from the show) in 2018, she hasn't been seen since. In 2019 though, Anna took to Instagram to reveal that she was on the hunt for people to complete a Beauty Therapy Level 3 VTCT please drop me a message - so it looks like she's still doing what she does best.

Wayne continued, "One thing led to another, we said 'let's do it' and one thing led to another.
"We did the post and it went f--king nuts. I did put winky faces, laughing faces and 'lol' on there, so I did think people would understand it was a joke.
"A lot of people congratulated me, and I did feel really bad because these are nice people. But I told all my family and friends, obviously.
"The point of it all was we just wanted to see the abuse I got. And it was horrific.
"Not so much on my post, but the next day I did a comment on one of Chloe's pictures; 'wifey goals.' It just went off. I was called a rapist, a paedophile...you name it. It was absolutely awful. It was dreadful, it really was."
Wayne went on to explain the 'horrific' abuse, telling followers he's to record a podcast with both Chloe and her Geordie Shore co-star Bethan Kershaw detailing the extent of the trolling he received on the back of the 'engagement' announcement.
