He was the Ibiza Weekender star who won over the hearts of the nation with his short shorts and very shiny legs when he won Celebrity Big Brother earlier this year, but David Potts has teased that he’s taking his career in a totally different direction – and we’re all kinds of obsessed.
David might not have a background in acting (partying hard is more his thing), but the Big Brother star suggested he might have a role in a major soap coming up in a recent social media post.
Over on his Instagram Story, David posted a picture wearing his trademark tiny shorts and sunnies, alongside what looks like a pink dressing gown, while posing outside the Rovers Return Inn.
Yes, that’s the iconic pub from Coronation Street.
'My first shift at my new job. Wish me luck,' he captioned the picture.
From David’s post alone, it’s hard to tell whether he’s joining the Corrie cast (which we’d totally be here for), taking on a cameo role, or simply visiting the show’s set.
FYI, us regular folk can visit the fictional town of Weatherfield over in Media City in Salford.
Either way, we’d love to see David slinging pints at the Rovers, it feels like the perfect fit for him. Not only is Bolton-born David a northern legend, his days as a holiday rep in Ibiza would help him get Ken Barlow and co dancing all night long.
David’s no stranger to TV either. He’s appeared on everything from Celebs Go Dating to Celebrity Karaoke Club before he won the first rebooted series of Celebrity Big Brother this year, beating Strictly’s Nikita Kuzmin to take home the crown in the final.
Speaking earlier this year, David revealed that he’s eyeing up another reality show – one that will be back on our screens soon.
'I like putting myself into a position where it’s out of my comfort zone,' he exclusively told heat.
'Like when I did Celebrity Karaoke Club, and then CBB again was out of my comfort zone. I’d be awful in the I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here jungle – I would actually be the worst person that ever went on – but great TV for everyone. I’d go in for the weight loss!'
And even though he was on Celebs Go Dating back in 2019, David said that he’d also give the show another go if it allowed him to seek the advice of the show’s dating experts, Anna Williamson and Paul C Brunson.
'I mean, I’m still single!' he revealed. 'I wouldn’t say no to doing it. I am the type of person where eventually I want to get married. And I’m running out of options in Bolton. So unless I move somewhere else, I think I’m going to need some kind of expert help.'
