We always knew recouplings took a long time to film, but DAMN

The week after a Love Island series wrapping is always a very wonderful/hectic af time to be a heat journalist. A tidal wave of Islanders have been given their phones back and are spilling precious Love Island show secrets left, right and centre – now that they don't have LI producers breathing down their necks. It's safe to say, we're spending an unhealthy amount of time on their Instagrams.

And the All Stars lot are certainly not playing/perhaps know the game a little too well and KNOW we're going to write about every drop they spill. Hmm...

Take Love Island 2019 funnyman Chris Taylor for example; he recently took to his Instagram story to spill some piping hot show tea in a juicy Instagram Q&A that had us thirsty (for more).

FYI, this was just days after he was in our very own studio spilling full teapots of tea while filming heat's Under the Duvet podcast. We thought he'd be completely dry after that sesh, but no...

King.

Seriously, though, in that episode of heat's Under the Duvet Chris exclusively revealed All Stars' "biggest wind up", revealed a secret ‘betrayal’ that wasn’t shown on TV and dished the dirt on partying with Stormzy in the villa.

Anyway, Chris took to his Instagram story and while he responded to most of the fan questions with thirst traps (we're obv not complaining), however, he did respond to a question asking how long the recouplings take to film with a serious answer – while inadvertently revealing a major show secret to the more vigilant Love Island fan.

KING.

He began by revealing that, despite recouplings only lasting 15 minutes on-screen, in reality (ha), they took "a long, long time" – and by that he means around three to four hours.

It's no wonder Maya Jama slow-mo walks into that villa night after night – we'd put that tedious af job off too.

As you can imagine, getting this lot to sit still for four hours straight didn't exactly go smoothly – in fact, according to Chris, the All Stars got in trouble time and time again for "laughing and fidgeting" during the recouplings.

Chris told his thirsty fans (hiya), "It took about three to four hours ever time we did a re-coupling. Basically, in between every speech or text, they have to get shots for like ten or 15 minutes and we have to remain absolutely silent and still and not move. Loads of laughing and fidgeting and we got b*llocked all the time for that. It’s not an easy job."

For more Love Island goss from the latest dumped Islanders, make sure you listen to heat's Under the Duvet.
