We are now into the third week of this year's Love Island, and following last night's intense recoupling, the drama is set to continue!
However, before the big switch-up between the Islanders, viewers were shown footage from the following day, where Joe Garratt started to have doubts about his relationship with Lucie Donlan, due to the fact she's friends with the other boys.
As Lucie previously stated, she's never had girl friends in her life, and prefers the male company, but it seems Joe isn't a fan of this...
Clearly annoyed with Joe's ancient views, viewers of the show took to Twitter to react to his words, with many accusing him of being 'controlling'.
One annoyed fan wrote, 'Feel bad for lucie man😢 it’s ok to hang around with whoever you want to hang around with, girls or boys ITS OK!!! And joe needs to be dumped right now cos if that’s not controlling & coercive behaviour after 2 weeks I dunno what is, insecure little boy🤦🏽♀️ #LoveIsand'. [sic]
Another wrote, 'I am catching up on last night's #loveisland and Joe is absolutely showing all the red flags. He's very possessive and jealous, clearly he has some insecurity. "I don't like it, it upsets me, why would you do something that upsets me". Controlling. LEG IT LUCIE.' [sic]
A third then added, 'Catching up on Love Island and my heart is hurting for Lucie !! Joe telling her he doesn’t want her talking to Tommie and to talk to the girls instead JOE GO HOME'. [sic]
It wasn't just viewers at home shocked at Joe's behaviour, voice-over Iain Stirling also made fun of Joe's views. making reference to the fact he's living in the past. He said, "Joe wants her to go and get her petticoat on."
