It wasn’t long after entering the Love Island villa that Paige Turley let slip about her famous ex-boyfriend Lewis Capaldi as the Islanders played the ‘Spill The Tea’ challenge.
Paige and Lewis dated for a year after meeting at college in Motherwell and it was even rumoured that his number one single Someone You Loved was written about her.
Lewis put an end to the speculation when he revealed the song was actually inspired by his late grandmother, but the 23-year-old singer did name which song was written about Paige this weekend during a gig at London’s Seven Dials Market.
According to The Sun, Lewis told the crowd his song Hold Me While You Wait was about a relationship he thought “was going well, and the lady has different ideas”.
He added, “She thinks it's going horribly and then she leaves, and you're quite sad about it, and you write an album about it.
“And then she ends up going on Love Island.”
Lewis then joked, “For the record, I hope my ex-girlfriend wins Love Island. Not bitter.”

Turns out Paige did win the show in 2020 and fun fact, the Scottish Islander and Finn Tapp were the first official couple in the villa.
Finn stayed loyal to Paige during Casa Amor, despite the arrival of six brand bombshells, and asked her to be his girlfriend after returning to the main villa.

Speaking about Lewis before entering the villa, Paige said, “Lewis Capaldi is my ex-boyfriend.
“We went out when we were younger, I was about 17 or 18. We were together for about a year. It ended really amicably and we’re still pals.”
Revealing how his past relationship inspired his music, Lewis told The Sun, “I met a lady. She was very nice. I loved her. I loved the look of her and I loved how she spoke.
“We dated for a year-and-a-half, then she left me. Then I wrote an album about it and I still think about it every day.”
