Throughout his three weeks in the Love Island villa, the public have been keeping an extra keen eye on 'Sandwich Man' Joe Garratt. After coupling up with surfer chick Lucie Donlan on the first day, viewers have gone onto accuse Joe of 'emotionally controlling behaviour'.
And now, after being booted off the show last night (18th June), Lucie's mum is apparently sharing her thoughts on her daughter's Love Island beau. It’s being reported that she took to Twitter and wrote that she is 'genuinely heartbroken' about Joe's exit, and saw them to be an 'amazing couple'.
The tweet apparently read, 'Hey! I’m Lucies mum and I’m genuinely heartbroken that he’s been taken from her. i think Joe and her are an amazing couple and were one of the most genuine in there. Joe is a lovely boy and you should be very proud of him xxx Love you you all I can only imagine how you’re feeling.' [sic]
Eyebrows were raised when Joe began to question Lucie's friendships within the villa, expressing his 'concern' over her close relationship with fellow Islander Tommy Fury. Since then, things have pretty much spiraled with Women's Aid expressing their concerns over Joe's behaviour.

After Joe stating that he will be waiting for Lucie on the outside, viewers were partly convinced that she would be leaving with him. Speaking to the MailOnline, Lucie's mum said, "Lucie should stay on the show. We’ve got no worries over her what so ever, she’s very happy. The support given to her and us as a family by ITV has been amazing."
So has Lucie left Love Island?
Well it seems viewers will find out tonight if Lucie does indeed leave Love Island for good to follow her sandwich-making prince!
Who has been dumped so far?
So far (19th May), we have seen four Islanders sadly depart from the iconic Love Island villa. This includes Callum Macleod, Sherif Lanre, Elma Pazar and, of course, Joe Garratt.
