It’s been two weeks since Love Island’s Mimii Ngulube confirmed she’d split from Josh Oyinsan and, to be honest with you, we’ve only just got over the shock.
Mimii and Josh unfollowed each other on social media and called it quits just two months after winning Love Island 2024 ahead of runners-up Nicole Samuel and Ciaran Davies, who, thankfully, are still going strong and have even moved in together.
Mimii and Josh have both remained pretty tight-lipped about what went wrong since their breakup, but Mimii recently opened up about being single again on a podcast and admitted she has ‘trust issues’.
Speaking on the Cocktails & Takeaways podcast, Mimii told host Madame Joyce, ‘Yes, I am single. Not available.
‘Right now, it’s just too soon and I have trust issues, you know? I don’t know what angle people coming at, so I’m just kind of healing, as you say, taking time for myself, focusing on myself.’
She continued, ‘Everything is so new still to me, so I’m kind of trying to still find my ground.’
It appears we shouldn’t expect Mimii to open up about how things ended with Josh either as she admitted she’s muted words on Instagram to avoid her followers asking awkward questions in her comments section.
Mimii explained, ‘That’s when features on Instagram, like hidden words come in clutch, because I don’t have a headache now because I’ve discovered these features.
‘Don’t ask me things. I hear it, yes, I was in a public relationship, I was on a TV show, you guys are expecting this, but at the end of the day, I’m not that type of person. If I don’t want to share anything, I’m not going to.’
Mimii first revealed she and Josh had split on Instagram at the end of last month after eagle-eyed fans noticed they were no longer following each other.
She wrote, ‘I know that a lot of you having been wondering why Josh and I haven’t been making appearances. The truth is we have been trying to figure it out since leaving the villa, but unfortunately things aren’t going to work out between us right now.’
The mental health nurse turned reality star also told her followers, ‘I know it’s a big disappointment for a lot of you as it is for me too, your support for us hasn’t gone unnoticed and I will forever be grateful for it, you guys are the reason we made it to this point.’
