Despite announcing in August that they’d called time on their five-year romance, it seems Love Island's Molly-Mae Hague and Tommy Fury’s love story could be far from done – with the pair dropping hints that they have rekindled their spark.
Molly-Mae, 25, caused a stir on Instagram recently after the reappearance of her diamond engagement ring left fans questioning whether she and Tommy, also 25, were back on. Fans rushed to comment, with one writing, ‘The engagement ring is on’, as another posted, ‘Hope they are back together’.
It wasn’t only Molly-Mae who seemed to be fuelling rumours of a reconciliation. Tommy also appeared to suggest that a rekindling could be on the cards during his recent YouTube Vlog, as eagle-eyed fans spotted him wearing his gold promise ring. One wrote, ‘Nice to see you’re still wearing your ring – maybe there’s still hope.’
And with rumours that the pair could reconcile, we’re told that, if they do, Molly-Mae will be laying down the law when it comes to giving Tommy a second chance.
‘She’s told friends that if she does take Tommy back, she’s going to have her legal team draw up a prenup agreement, whether they get married or not,’ says our source. ‘He’ll have to agree to sign a £1million contract, which will include a cheating clause and give her control on his travel and work trips, as well as full access to all his technological devices. It’s the only way she feels their relationship can work.’
Back in the summer, fans were left shocked after Molly-Mae and Tommy – who met on Love Island in 2019 and share daughter Bambi, one – announced they had ended their relationship. While they didn’t reveal the reason behind their split, allegations of cheating soon emerged, with Tommy and his team quickly denying any rumours that he’d been unfaithful. ‘These last few weeks have been heartbreaking, and the false allegations about me have been horrendous,’ wrote the professional boxer.
Heartbreak aside, self-described ‘workaholic’ Molly-Mae has thrown herself into her career since then. Last week saw the launch of the star’s clothing brand Maebe, a project that’s been three years in the works. Despite some fans hitting back at the range’s ‘criminal’ price point – with jeans costing £90, and a blazer costing £140 – the initial drop sold out in just 24 minutes.
It came after Molly-Mae revealed that she was ready to ‘sink her teeth into something new’, adding, ‘I have a really good feeling about this new era of my life, and think it’s going to be so special and a great thing for me to focus on and put my time into – as well as being a mum to Bambi.’
But while Molly-Mae’s been thriving post-split, things for Tommy have been a little bumpier. He was booed by fans at the recent fight between Anthony Joshua and Daniel Dubois when he appeared on the screen – only for big brother Tyson to receive a cheer.
It was a blow for Tommy, who is set to open up about his shock split in his memoir Lightning Can Strike Twice, released this month. Following his relationship breakdown, sources said the star was in talks with his publisher to update the book, which was said to feature gushing chapters about his ex.
Addressing the situation, Tommy clarified that he’d now written extra pages, saying, ‘I’ve tried to keep it as current as I can for you guys – I’ve wrote an extra chapter obviously discussing what’s been going on this past month.’
Despite their split, we’re told that Molly-Mae’s prenup plan could set the young couple back on the right track – as long as Tommy agrees to the strict rules. And if he stays in Molly-Mae’s good books, we’re told she may consider a second baby.
‘Molly-Mae has said that she would love another child,’ says the source. ‘She’s sure that giving Bambi a baby brother or sister will help repair them as a family, and get things between her and Tommy back on track.’
