Love Island's Molly-Mae Hague and Tommy Fury appear to be happier than ever since reuniting after their dramatic break-up. But, according to sources, it hasn’t all been plain sailing.
Tommy, 25, was forced to deny allegations of cheating after news of their split broke last August, before later revealing it was his drinking that led to the break down of their relationship. And now, while the famous pair are giving things another shot, their families don’t seem to be on the same page when it comes to how to support Tommy’s new, sober lifestyle.
‘Molly-Mae doesn’t trust some of the people in Tommy’s life to do what’s best for him,’ an insider tells heat.

‘She feels some people aren’t taking his sobriety seriously, and instead of supporting him, some of those close to him have accused her of overreacting about his drinking, and suggested that he only adopted his new clean-living lifestyle just to appease her. It ’s led to a lot of fights, including with some of Tommy’s close family, which has led to him freezing them out – it’s caused quite a rift.’
Love Island 2019 stars Molly-Mae and Tommy – who also appeared in Tommy’s brother Tyson’s in 2023 docuseries At Home With The Furys – first sparked reconciliation rumours at the end of last year, and are now back living together as a family.
Last week, Molly shared snaps of her and two-year-old daughter Bambi, who she shares with Tommy, in Budapest. They were in the Hungarian capital to support him as he trains for his fight there on 9 May.
We’re told Tommy’s family are placing the blame for any bad blood between him and his family firmly at her feet.

‘There have been a few harsh words and accusations,’ says our insider. ‘Tommy has been trying to break old habits – he’s the one who has distanced himself. The fact that some of his friends are still trying to guilt him into nights out is what Molly-Mae worries about. She knows how tough this is for him and how hard he’s trying, and she worries the turmoil could derail his recovery.'
But it’s not just Tommy’s nearest and dearest who have reservations about the couple reuniting – Molly-Mae’s sister Zoe also voiced her worries in the star’s Amazon docuseries Molly-Mae: Behind It All. Reading out messages Zoe had sent her after their break-up, Molly-Mae said, ‘You want to be with 50% of Tommy, but you don’t want to be with the other 50% of him. The last two months you’ve been happier and nicer to be around because you’ve not got the stressors that come along with being with him.’
The next instalment of Behind It All airs in May and it will cover the couple’s reconciliation and her family’s fears surrounding it. We’re told that, as much as Molly-Mae wants the relationship to work, she’s not afraid to walk away if Tommy cannot change his ways.

‘She has her red line and has been very clear that, if he crosses it, then she’s gone. She’s well aware that if you keep forgiving someone’s bad behaviour, then there’s no impetus for them to change. It’s going to take a while before they feel they can say things are back to normal.’
Despite this, we’re told Molly-Mae and Tommy are a good place right now. Our source says, ‘They’ve never been happier. He’s been amazing – the man he always wished he could be. He’s being a devoted dad, treating Molly like a queen and really sorting his life out.’
