Love Island gives us unbeatable drama every year for the entire eight weeks it airs, but in the case of Love Island 2024, that drama keeps coming even when all the Islanders have all been sent home.
While many Islanders leave as a couple, sometimes the outside world proves a bit too difficult to make a relationship work. This was exactly the case with Trey Norman and Ellie Jackson, who were brutally dumped after receiving the fewest public votes on Movie Night.
Despite beginning to date after their departure from the villa, the pair called it quits shortly after, with Ellie claiming that Trey had quite a few red flags before adding, "He just wants to be famous."
Naturally, we wanted to hear what Trey had to say about this, so when we sat down with him to discuss all things Love Island we asked how he felt after seeing Ellie's interview.
"I was really shocked and disappointed because I feel like I’ve always had Ellie’s back, especially when she came out, I’ve always wanted to protect her and speak about her in a positive light.
"Me and Ellie did agree that we’d give things a crack but the distance, Cardiff and Doncaster, it just didn’t end up working out and we decided just to be friends. We were cool with each other, I’ve got a lot of time for Ellie I think she’s a great person, and that’s why when I saw the article about, you know, 'He’s fame hungry and he just wants to go on All Stars,' I was gutted because I’m a genuine person."
He went on to tell us, "She’s obviously going through a lot at the minute and I understand that, I appreciate that, and if she wants to slander me or say these things, I know they’re not true so I can sleep at night and that’s all that matters.
"Obviously if the opportunity came to go on All Stars, I mean, why not?"
LOL.
Luckily for Trey, he's now single and therefore eligible for the highly anticipated second series of the spin-off. This also means that both Trey and Ellie could return for a Molly Smith/Callum Jones style joint bombshell, and we can't think of anything better.
