“Married At First Sight Australia season 11 spoilers ahead*
We’ve seen some brutal break-ups on the latest Aussie series of Married At First Sight, including Ellie Dix and Ben Walters and Andrea Thompson and Richard Sauerman, but the latest split has caught us completely off-guard.
In case you didn’t know, the show has already finished airing Down Under, meaning that the remaining MAFS Australia 2024 couples are now back living their normal lives and making their relationships work in the outside world.
But while they were together in the months after filming came to an end, Eden Harper and Jayden Eynaud have since split.
Eden broke the sad news on Instagram earlier this week as she revealed their break up was “unexpected" and now she's shed some more light on the situation.
During an appearance on Hit Network’s The Pulse with Seany B & Emma G, she explained, "I didn’t really think that there was anything that much wrong with the relationship. He broke up with me, so just out of the blue one night.”
Eden revealed that "there was no big fight" behind the break-up and added, "He just said, ‘I just feel like this isn’t right.'"
The recruitment manager turned reality star also admitted she'd had no contact with her ex as Jayden has ghosted her. "He won’t reply to me. He hasn’t replied," she told Daily Mail Australia.
"It was definitely a blind side. I just felt that the way that it all fell apart for us when he broke up with me, I just felt he was choosing not to be with me, and he didn’t want to be with me.”
Alongside a series of photos taken throughout their relationship after the experiment, Eden took to Instagram on Wednesday to announce she'd split from Jayden. She wrote, “When I made the decision at final vows to be with Jayden, I really did that with longterm intentions. Jayden & I spent many months together after the experiment, during which Cub gained a dad and I gained a second family who I’m truly grateful for.
“I’m saddened to share that toward the end of the show airing, our relationship came to an unexpected end. The ‘reality’ is, the person I chose didn’t choose me. Whilst I’m disappointed, I will never regret the experiment, the people I met, the lessons I learnt and the growth this process has had on me.”
Speaking directly to her followers, Eden added, “Thank you for supporting us and for also wishing for the same fairytale that I had hoped for.”
