Queen Ariana Grande, aka the 27-year-old pop superstar, hit yet another milestone after bagging the top spot on the UK Singles charts with her single ‘Positions’. This was Ariana’s seventh single to reach number one in the UK, and she actually spent six weeks owning the crown at the number one spot.
It’s no surprise really; she’s a pint-sized pop princess with powerhouse vocals.
So, in light of the success of Ari's new album and single ‘Positions’, we thought we’d give you Arianators a trip down memory lane to take a look back at some of Ariana Grande’s most iconic music videos of all time.
10. The Way ft. Mac Miller
Going all the way back to 2013 to one of Ariana's first music videos that broke her into the music scene.
This video features Mac Miller and is a postcard of their love and a reminder to where it all started.
It's fun, flirty and was a great introduction for the world to meet Ariana Grande. She plays her quirky, goofy self in the video, whilst being photographed by Mac. The two exchange flirtatious eye contact throughout, and get very close and intimate - they even shared a kiss.
If you want to be reminded of what love looks like, we recommend re-watching this video.
9. Problem ft. Iggy Azalea
This music video is, without-a-doubt, a timeless staple to Ari’s career.
This iconic 1960’s-inspired video serves some serious retro funk! Joined by Iggy Azalea, fans were re-introduced to Ariana Grande with a brand-new sound, as she launched herself into a new realm of fame.
Problem is a nostalgic piece of work throwing it all the way back to the ’60s, where Ari takes inspiration from the era's aesthetic. Between the 1960’s-mod fashion, enrapturing dance moves, and vintage backdrops, is it any surprise that this video has accumulated over 1 billion views? I think not...
This music video was a spectacular introduction to Ariana Grande as we know her today. It paved the way for her mega popstar status and it seems success has seamlessly followed her ever since.
8. Love Me Harder ft The Weeknd
From gloomy thundering skies to hazy golden glows; this music video perfectly portrays the emotional roller-coaster of a relationship facing turmoil.
Like a kitty playing in a sandbox, “Love Me Harder” witnesses Ari enter the iconic cat-ear phase of her career.
Accompanied by The Weeknd - who’s on the opposing side of love: apparently wanting nothing more than casual hookups. Ariana explores her desires in this world of sultry moodiness, and truly owns her womanhood, femininity and demands the love she deserves!
You go get it Ari!
7. Break Free ft Zedd
“Break Free” is an intergalactic adventure of a popstar in outer space. First released in 2014, this space anthem still lives and thrives today.
This music video promises to deliver an experience so ‘fantastically, fantastical’, that ‘you’ll soil yourself from intergalactic excitement’, and it certainly lived up to expectations.
Ari assumes the position of a heroic space goddess as she is seen glamming out in futuristic outfits and rocking out to this pop jam that is a combination of aspirational, exciting, and innovative mystiqueness.
6. Into You
She ditched her ponytail and let her hair down! WE REPEAT- THE HAIR IS DOWN.
As Ariana matured into her 'Dangerous Woman' era, she waved goodbye to her iconic hairstyle and let her hair down. As a result, we got served with cinematic masterpieces, like 'Into You'.
This video is a gradient explosion of pink skies and starry nights as we follow Ari on her journey of conflicted love.
This music video features Ari, and guest star Don Benjamin as her lover, in a motel in the middle of the desert, riding on the back of his motorcycle as we witness the couple’s connection flourish. Towards the end of the music video, Ari attends a party that shows Don is actually the bodyguard to her current partner. The video concludes with Ariana leaving the party and Don leaving very soon after...
If this isn’t already one of your favourite music videos by Ari, then you’re not watching it enough.
5. Side To Side ft. Nicki Minaj
We all know the lyrics to this song, “I’ve been here all night, I’ve been all day, and boy, got me walkin’ side to side”. We’ll leave it up to you to decide what’s got Ari walking side to side after being there all night and day...
But with video director Hannah Lux Davis’ creative play on the lyrics, we observe Ari working out hard at the gym and breaking a sweat in the iconic spin class. So perhaps, it was just all the exercise that had Ariana walking funny the next day?
Paired up with Nicki Minaj, we see Nicki and Ari getting steamy in the sauna whilst Nicki raps her verse and the couple serve up some serious sass and a sexy neon surprise.
Focus on Ari!
This stand-alone single was released in 2015 between the albums My Everything, and Dangerous Woman. 'Focus' never found a permanent spot on either of the albums, but that’s only because this sound was so unique and experimental that it became a standout on its own.
Directed again by Hannah Lux Davis, this music video became a sleeker, updated version of “Problem”released in 2014. Fans have claimed this single and music video as being “Problem” 2.0.
It’s no shock that all eyes are on Ari in this video - that really was her purpose; however she also wanted to convey a deeper meaning with the lyrics behind this song. In the words of Grande herself, she explained, "By 'focus on me' I literally mean focus on me — on what I'm all about, on what I believe in."
Despite this video being a sleek, minimalistic masterpiece that lets Ari prove she can handle choreography and rock her best hair colour to this date, it was all a deliberate creative decision to have the lyrics clash with the video concept. Probably so that in order to focus on Ari as a person, we have to search and dig a lot deeper than her music videos for answers.
3. God Is A Woman
God really is a woman. And Ari proved it in this cosmic music video.
This is one of our faves. Intertwining spirituality and sexuality; Ari is seen hula hooping with a spiral galaxy, dancing in the flame of a candle and sitting on top of the earth whilst manipulating clouds and controlling the weather.
Is there anything this woman can't do?
2. Thank U, Next
Thank U, Next quite frankly, deserves to be in its own league!
With throwbacks to movies from the '90s and '00s, we see Ariana paying homage to films such as Mean Girls, Bring It On, 13 Going On 30, and Legally Blonde. This music video is everything we wanted, needed and more.
Ari sports some fab outfits, wigs, and some epic celebrity cameos. We don't want to spoil the fun by describing this video, so watch it for yourself.
This will ALWAYS be our fave!

1. 34 + 35
Ariana Grande has assumed the position of mad scientist in her ‘34 + 35’ music video. This video witnesses Ari serve some serious fembot energy, raunchy looks, and incredible choreography.
This wildly playful video, showcases her versatility in character whilst she takes centre stage with sultry sci-fi action and femininity oozing from every scene.
The video borrows from vintage science fiction aesthetics and pays true homage to the fembots from Austin Powers. The video sees Ari play both a bizarre scientist and a robotic creation that she brings to life in the lab - which ultimately casts an explosion that transforms her and her lab workers into true 1960’s fembots. Unveiling a sweet and seductive Ariana dressed in lilac babydoll, with matching elbow-length silk gloves.
