Jesy Nelson has got her fans stirring up a storm after she hinted at releasing new music through sneaky posts on social media.

The 29-year-old singer made the huge decision to leave Little Mix at the end of 2020, and now it looks like she could be forging her own creative journey as the girls of Little Mix: Leigh-Anne Pinnock, Perrie Edwards and Jade Thirlwall, stand strong as a trio.

So, we thought we'd do a little digging on what Jesy is doing now...

Is Jesy Nelson going solo?

It looks rather likely and we're SO EXCITED.

The singer took to Instagram to share a snap of herself looking absolutely stunning (as she rocked the most gorgeous curls), and teased fans with the caption, writing, "Let’s go 🎶🎵🎶'".

Fans did not hesitate to press the former Little Mix star in the comment section. One fan wrote "MAKE SOLO MUSIC 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍", and another wrote, "ARE WE GETTING JN1???" and here's the real exciting part - Jesy LIKED the fans comments.

That's pretty much confirmation, right?

What Is JN1?

JN1, simply translates to Jesy Nelson 1, which is referring to Jesy's first studio album that fans believe is on the horizon.

Jesy teased fans once again, a little after her first post by posting a snap of herself relaxing in a recording studio on her Instagram Story, alongside songwriters Patrick Patrikios and Hanni Ibrahim.

And Jesy is actually already well acquainted with them as they've worked on previous albums together for Little Mix.

The singer captioned the post with four cheeky monkey emojis, "🙊🙊🙊🙊".

We can only guess what this might mean, but we're absolutely buzzing at the prospect of new music.

When will Jesy Nelson's solo music be out?

According to reports, Jesy's debut solo single will be released in September 2021.

A music insider told The Sun, "Jesy spent several months at the beginning of the year working on the music and it has all come together quite quickly. Her new record label Polydor are keen to strike while the iron is hot, so they are throwing everything at her project and want the first single out in a matter of weeks.

"It is more upbeat than some might be expecting and there will be plenty of choreography in the video. The difference this time is that she is not comparing herself to her bandmates. It’s been so refreshing for her. Jesy has been working hard and is feeling really positive about this new chapter of her career.”

Who was Jesy in the studio with?

Fans shot to Twitter after they noticed that Jesy had recently started following two songwriters and one producer who she worked with on Little Mix's fifth studio album (also known as LM5).

They took this as a huge positive sign and believe it pretty much verifies their suspicion that new music from Jesy IS coming and coming SOON.

Jesy was snapped in the studio with Patrick Patrikios and Hanni Ibrahim two songwriters who worked on Little Mix's Touch and Joan of Arc - and if you've heard these hits, then you'll be aware they're absolute BOPS.

So, if this is new material that they're working on together, it's gonna be pretty EPIC.

Is Jesy Nelson really going solo?

Look, we know it isn't uncommon for girlbands to split up and focus on a more independent creative journey. All the greats do it: Destiny's Child, Fifth Harmony, Spice Girls.

And one fan claimed on Twitter: "[Jesy] did not leave the spotlight, she left because she felt pressure being in a band...".

When Jesy revealed she was leaving Little Mix and released a statement, she wrote: "I find the constant pressure of being in a girl group and living up to expectations very hard."

However she could just be chilling in the studio with her songwriters and producers? Who knows, but we will be keeping our eyes peeled on her Instagram.

Is Jesy Nelson joining The X Factor as a judge?

Following her exit from Little Mix, reports had claimed that Jesy could go back to where it all started and join The X Factor judging panel. It was claimed Simon Cowell was keen to snap her up before the show returned in 2022, however Jesy quickly put a stop to the rumours when a fan DM'd her to ask if the reports were true and she simply replied "No," alongside two laughing emojis.

In July 2021, it was announced that The X Factor had been cancelled after 17 years and wouldn't be returning to our screens following its hiatus.
