The first winter Love Island 2023 couple have confirmed they’ve split just days after the final.
We knew it was only a matter of time before it happened, but it still hurts all the same.
Casey O’Gorman has announced that he and Rosie Seabrook are no longer an item after opening up about their relationship status in an Instagram Q&A.
The pair were dumped from the villa a week before the final and, at the time, vowed to continue their relationship in the outside world and meet each other’s families.
However, it seems that won't be happening as Casey has admitted they’re now just friends.
Casey was taking part in a Q&A when one of his followers asked, “How are things with you and Rosie?”
He replied, “Rosie and I have spoken…she’s such a great girl.”
Why do we feel a ‘but’ coming?
Casey continued, “Life outside the villa is just very different and we will remain friends moving forward!”
We have to admit this isn’t a complete surprise, especially after viewers took to social media to point out the “lack of chemistry” between the pair during the reunion show.
“Casey could not seem less interested in Rosie if he tried! Also pretty sure he kept side eyeing Claudia [Fogarty],” one wrote on Twitter.
Another commented, “Casey and Rosie clearly hate each other,” while a third added, “Casey and Rosie may as well post that breakup statement after this reunion.”
During the reunion, Casey admitted he hadn’t spent much time with Rosie since leaving the villa although he said they were planning a date.
“Literally got back and we said to each other, ‘Just going to see family and friends for the week.’ It’s all a bit overwhelming when you come back, so that was the plan.
“But we’ve got a date on Tuesday, so just looking forward to that.”
Wait, Tuesday as in the same Tuesday you announced your break-up? Eek, we’re guessing that breakfast date didn’t go too well then…
