After a brief break from the beach for Celeb Ex in the City, which saw famous faces including Megan Barton-Hanson, Calum Best and Amy Hart confronted by their exes at a London restaurant, the upcoming series is rumoured to be taking place in Colombia.
According to reports, the GC is top of producers’ wish list – but her on/off relationship with James Argent could throw a spanner in the works.
A TV insider explained, “She pulls in huge ratings and would be a coup for the show if they could secure her. But Gemma is not an easy woman to get hold of. She’s previously turned down huge sums of money to take part in dating shows.
“And she’s back in contact with James now which has made everything more complicated.”
“In a dream world Gemma would agree to take part and she’d fly to Colombia later this summer but MTV know the offer is going to have to be spectacular,” they added to The Sun.

It’s also claimed the upcoming series has been thrown into chaos after producers were forced to delay filming by four months due to the ongoing pandemic.
The date change means that celebs who have already signed up for the show – thought to include Love Island stars Jack Fincham and Georgia Steel – may now have to pull out because of their hectic work schedules.
“This scheduling change has caused a headache for the bookers, who’ve been hard at work securing celebs for the show,” a source told the same publication.
“Jack Fincham and Georgia Steel have signed up to take part, along with their exes, but now it’s all up in the air as they may not be able to make the new dates.”

Another star rumoured to be signing up for Ex on the Beach is Katie Price but, given that she’s VERY loved up with boyfriend Carl Woods, the former glamour model wouldn’t be appearing as a celebrity singleton.
Instead, Katie is apparently in talks to appear as a “love guru” to dish out advice to those searching for The One.
“Katie always jokes she's had enough experience with relationships to write the book on love, so it's the perfect role for her - giving out advice on what to do - and what NOT to do - on the show,” a telly insider revealed to The Sun.
Meanwhile, a spokesperson for Katie told the publication, “I can confirm that her management and PR are currently in talks with the show Ex on The Beach. Katie’s part in the show is to be a new addition to the current format.”
