Gogglebox bosses have confirmed that five of the show’s stars won’t be returning for the new series following the deaths of Mary Cook, Andy Michael and Pete McGarry.
Three stars of the Channel 4 show have sadly passed away in recent months and their family members will now not be returning to the show, meaning Mary’s best friend Marina, Andy’s wife Carolyne and children Alex and Louis, and Pete’s wife Linda will not appear on the new series.
However, executive producer Victoria Ray explained that the door is open for the stars to return in the future if they would like to.
She told the Daily Star, “We have had people from the show pass away recently. We lost Mary and Andy, and a little while ago we lost Pete.
“Their loved ones won't be taking part in the show for the moment. Understandably, they want their privacy."
