There are just days to go until I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! returns to our screens and, frankly, we couldn’t be any more excited. But even though the show hasn’t even begun yet, there’s already drama surrounding two of this year’s contestants.
Yep, it turns out Emmerdale actor Danny Miller and Olympic diving champion Matty Lee have broken one of the show’s major rules before they’ve even stepped foot anywhere near Gwrych Castle.
With strict rules in place to ensure that the line-up doesn’t get leaked before it’s announced by ITV, I’m A Celeb stars are sworn to secrecy when they sign up to the show but it turns out that Danny and Matty have been quite as tight-lipped as they should have been.
Soap star Danny has revealed he told best pal and former Emmerdale co-star Adam Thomas, who came third on I’m A Celeb in 2016, that he was taking part in the show so he could seek advice on what to expect.
He admitted, “I confided in Adam about me taking part as he is one of my best friends in the world.
“I feel like I am a step ahead as I’ve asked him questions about what it will be like. Obviously he was in Australia and this is in Wales but he has been amazing in helping to settle my nerves."

And he’s not the only one who’s been spilling the tea as his future campmate Matty has revealed he let slip he’d signed up to diving partner Tom Daley. The diver was actually contacted by I’m A Celeb producers just moments after he arrived back in the UK after winning gold in the men’s synchronised 10m platform dive at Tokyo 2020 and immediately divulged all to his close pal.
Matty said, “When I told Tom, he was in shock too! He is so excited for me and he has always been so supportive and helped me a lot over the past three years.
“He gives me advice about anything whether it is relationships or whatever - I always ask Tom.”

Joining Danny and Matty in camp this year will be daytime TV legend Richard Madeley, The Saturdays singer Frankie Bridge, music producer Naughty Boy and five other famous faces.
It was reported back in December that Naughty Boy was originally lined up for last year’s series but was forced to drop out due to a family illness.
Jordan North, who finished in second place behind eventual winner Giovanna Fletcher, then revealed it was him who had replaced the A-list producer in an appearance on Radio 1 with Greg James. He said, “I was last minute. I got a call to say, ‘Maybe next year not this year’. Then I got a call two weeks later saying, ‘Do you want to do it? Someone’s dropped out.’”
Let’s see if Naughty Boy can make it as far as Jordan did…
