Love Island’s Jake Cornish has had a cute little reunion with some of his fellow Islanders after choosing to swerve the reunion show claiming he was poorly.
At the start of the show, host Laura Whitmore revealed, “Jake can’t be with us this evening as he isn’t feeling very well. But get well soon and sending you lots of love.”
Fans weren't convinced, with one saying, “Lool Jake we know you ain’t sick,” and another, “Jake didn’t want to face the music!!!”
Whatever the reason, we're glad to see he's feeling well enough to meet up with some of his former co-stars now. With 'some' being the operative word...
Despite keeping a low-profile since quitting the villa just days before the final as his relationship with Liberty crumbled, Jake reunited with Islanders Brad McClelland, Lillie Haynes and Sam Jackson in Manchester.
Many of the 2021 Islanders were absent, noticeably Liberty and Jake’s close pals Teddy Soares and Toby Aromolaran.
Unlike some other Islanders, Jake is using his time post-villa to spend time with his beloved mum and we haven’t heard much from him – apart from that he’s managed to bag his ‘dream’ job as a Dreamboy.

During a recent Q&A on his Instagram, one of his followers said, "Well unfair the way the public reacted to you on the show. What's your thoughts on it?"
Jake then responded and said, "If people knew what was said which wasn't aired, I think people would believe differently".
Brad recently opened up about how Jake is adjusting to life in the limelight during a Q&A on Instagram.
Replying to a fan who asked him how Jake was doing, Brad replied, “Jake is Jake and seems good to me. He’s still got that bouncy positive personality, always smiling and having a laugh. Don’t call him Tigger for nothing 😂 @jakecornish7”.
Jake and Liberty’s (or Jiberty, as they were known by fans) Love Island journey ended VERY abruptly when they sensationally called it quits and quit the villa just days before the final. In emotional scenes, the nation watched Liberty choose “self love” as she ended things with her now ex-boyfriend and admitted that she didn’t feel they were right for each other.

Why Love Island's Brad McClelland has hit out at Laura Whitmore after 'boring' reunion
Speaking to KISS Breakfast's Harriet Rose for Stick It On Us with VOXI (over FaceTime as he was still quarantining since leaving the villa) Jake admitted that he “got it wrong".
After he was asked he fought hard enough to save his relationship with Liberty, the former water engineer admitted he'd been doing some self-reflecting.
Jake replied, “Yes, I felt like I did fight hard for her going into it and then as soon as Casa Amor come, and I came out of Casa Amor, when I saw her around the fire pit, the emotions were like ‘Wow, she’s there on her own’ and we were joined at the hip.
“And then the movie night, it just went downhill from there. If you don’t know me, I can’t articulate my words very well, I can’t express how I feel. It’s on the end of my tongue in my head but I can’t get it out. It’s my way and only my way. I need to sit back and take a breath and process it and I’ve learnt that about myself now."
Hmmmmmm.
