Love Island threw a huge spanner in the works for Brad McClelland’s blossoming romance with Lucinda Strafford at the end of Tuesday’s episode when they were torn apart just hours on from their first date after they came bottom in a public vote for the most compatible couple.
As a result of receiving the fewest votes, Brad and Lucinda had to decide between them who was going to be dumped from the villa, with the Geordie labourer eventually choosing himself to be given the boot leaving Lucinda in tears.
Although he was happy for Lucinda to stay in the villa at the time, Brad has since changed his mind and wishes the online fashion boutique owner had left the villa with him so they could continue getting to know each other on the outside world.
Speaking after his exit, Brad explained, “On the night, it was one of them situations where I didn’t want her to leave [with me].
“The way we had a connection, it would be really nice to take what we had and continue it on the outside. I woke up this morning and I wish we had left together. I want to see where that could have went.
“Not being able to speak to Cind, or ask her where she’s at, I want to know how she’s woke up this morning.”

The 25 year old also revealed he was shocked that he and Lucinda were voted as one of the least compatible couples and insisted they were “faultless”.
He said, “Everyone was commenting on how happy I looked, how happy Cinds was. Cinds was telling me how happy she was with me and vice versa. Everyone could notice it.
“I think if you were to ask the Islanders in there, who is the most compatible couple in there, me and Cind would have been right up there. Especially considering there was friendship couples. Unfortunately, mine and Cinds’ time as a couple got cut short.”

Love Island: everyone's confused over last night's episode and here's why
In last night’s episode, Lucinda was left torn about whether to leave the villa with Brad after he offered give up his spot as an Islander.
After some convincing from Brad, Lucinda eventually decided to stay and said it would be a “test” for their relationship. But not everyone was happy with her decision, with Faye Winter questioning Lucinda about her choice to stay in the villa.
Faye was in tears at her “best mate” Brad leaving as she said she felt he “really loved” everyone in the villa.
As he left the villa, Brad said, “If [Lucinda] finds someone in there, I’ll be happy for her. If she doesn’t, she knows where I am.”
