Love Island wars

Tensions have been running high among the Love Island lot ever since the chosen few rumoured to be taking part in the special reunion series were revealed.

In lieu of not one but TWO series of the show (both the summer and upcoming winter versions of the show have been cancelled thanks to coronavirus) ITV have decided to lay on a three-part special which will follow some of the biggest names from all six seasons of the show so far.

Predictably, this has led to rivalry between the Love Island community, who normally make a huge show of camaraderie across each others’ social medias and solo projects.

Big names to have been reportedly left out are Arabella Chi and Hayley Hughes, while Megan Barton Hanson, Montana Brown and Molly-Mae Hague (presumably her boyfriend, Tommy Fury, too) are set to be taking part.

WATCH: did the right couple win? The Love Island reunion you’ve been waiting for

“Those involved are very excited, but it has put a few noses out of joint among stars who haven’t been asked, especially those who think they are bigger names than those who have,” said a telly insider.

"Unfortunately things have got a bit nasty between some. At first it was just going to be the finalists from each series, but once exceptions started being made it really sparked anger and resentment.”

Love Island's 'most popular contestant EVER' revealed and we're shook

It wouldn’t be the first time a reunion show has caused a commotion, after the explosive Christmas reunion episode of 2018 where Sam Bird confronted his “cheating” ex Georgia Steel.

Speaking of the upcoming one-off special to The Sun, the source continued, “It’s just not possible to have everyone on in three episodes – so unfortunately the reality is some people have had to miss out.

“A few of them have kicked off a bit about it, but that’s just life. They can squabble among themselves all they want.”
