MAFS UK: inside Daniel McKee’s stylish Northern Ireland home

As the latest series of Married At First Sight UK comes to an end, it’s safe to say that there’s been drama aplenty. From Nikita Jasmine’s shock removal from the experiment to her husband Ant Poole returning with Alexis Economou and rumours that Jordon Mundell was in a secret relationship while he was on the show.

However, one couple who have provided some much-needed escape from all the chaos is Daniel McKee and Matt James – MAFS UK’s first ever gay couple – who pretty much hit it off from the moment they laid eyes on each other.

With the show almost over (SOB), we thought we’d take a peek into Daniel’s stylish home on the North Coast of Northern Ireland.

Dan manages to strike the right balance of homely and stylish in his kitchen, which features teal coloured walls and white cupboards accented with wooden surfaces.

Daniel shares his home with his adorable pet pooch Darci and, in their down time, they like to lounge around in their cosy living room which is kitted out with comfy brown sofas. Again, keeping the colour scheme very simple, the white walls of Dan's front room give it a spacious feel.

Daniel and Matt committed to continue their relationship after the show during the vow renewal which took place in last night’s episode, but they still haven’t worked out what their living situation will be as Dan wants Matt to move to his native Northern Ireland, while he’s keen to stay close to his family in Leeds.

The pair admitted that while it won’t be easy to make things work, they ultimately love each other and want to be together.

Matt told Dan, "There are still some big factors to consider, there is distance between us and there has been lots of debate about where we could build a future together. To move away from where I feel most secure and where I am surrounded by family and friends is a massive decision to make, as I look into your eyes, I see love and I love you Dan.

"And that's why there is no real decision for me... You're my best friend and my partner in crime, and most importantly the partner I want in my life. Let's continue this incredible and amazing journey together and I will always have your back, and you will always have my heart."

In his vows, Dan told Matt, "Here I stand today with a big decision to make, and it has to be the right one.

"You say you're willing to move to Northern Ireland, but will you resent me down the line for making you move away from your friends and family? Do I move to Leeds and grow regretful of my decision? I know we both want a family but I worry our time frames are growing further apart. I question you're simply agreeing with everything I say and haven't taken on the reality of life outside the experiment?"

"The truth of the matter is I am in love with you... I love you Matthew and it was clear from the beginning as the days grew, so did my feelings for you."
