Despite lockdown throwing the future of shows like I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! and Love Island into question, it seems that Strictly Come Dancing bosses are moving forward with plans for the next series and drawing up their wish list of potential celebrity contestants.
According to reports, Radio 1 DJ Maya Jama is top of that list and it sounds like the Beeb are prepared to splash some serious cash to get her to sign on the dotted line as it’s been claimed she’s been offered a “six-figure fee”.
A source told The Mirror, “Maya ticks every box. She is young, beautiful, popular, bright, talented and has a big social media following.
“To get her this year would be a real coup. They have a six-figure fee on the table.”

The next series of Strictly will look a bit different following the departure of two long-serving professional dancers.
Not only has Kevin Clifton quit the show after seven years but AJ Pritchard revealed he was leaving the famous ballroom behind last month, just weeks after he was confirmed as one of this year’s pros.
The 25 year old shared a statement on Instagram, which read, “After four years on Strictly Come Dancing, AJ has decided the time is right to leave the show and follow his dreams to explore opportunities in the presenting world alongside his brother Curtis.
“AJ would like to thank the team at Strictly and everyone at the BBC for giving him such a brilliant opportunity. AJ would also like to send his love and gratitude to all who have followed and supported his career. He is excited for you all to join him on the next chapter of his journey.”
