Winter Love Island star Zara Lackenby-Brown was dumped from the Island on day 17 and it's fair to say her departure caused a stir among fans – a grab your pitchforks kind of stir. Why? The phrase 'ultimate bombshell' comes to mind.
But fret not, Zara subjects; although our queen might've waved goodbye to villa life, she's now waving hello to a plethora of media publications and spilling truckloads of villa tea all over the internet. Absolute icon behaviour.
Naturally, we had to invite Zara to join us for an episode of heat dates (our very own piping hot YouTube series) where we encouraged yet more tea-spilling (obvs).
Normally when we interview a celeb, we're on the lookout for key words, phrases and insights that are unique and will grab attention; with Zara, virtually every word that left her mouth fell into that criteria.
During a chit-chat with our Harriet Rose about whether she thought there was a vibe between new couple Kai Fagan and Olivia Hawkins (a relationship that seemingly formed after Zara's exit), she responded bluntly, "No". This is the stuff we live for.
She continued, "I'll be straight up with you; I did not see that coming.
"And I don't know if they're together just because it's convenient or maybe if they just have this budding love that was just dead for the whole time I was there and completely sparked when I left."
Shots fired.
Zara went on to reveal that she was surprised Liv chose to pursue something new upon her departure, explaining that she assumed she'd set her sights on Tom Clare again now the villa is a Zara-free zone.
She said, "I thought maybe she'd get to know Tom more, because of this unfinished business they spoke about, but that just died. So yeah, Kai, apparently."
Journalism rule number; if someone is going off on one, let them rant – especially if the interviewee is an Islander. Zara shortly moved on to discuss Liv's relationship with Tanyel, who was originally coupled up with Kai, adding, "I actually thought that Tanyel and Liv were cool. But Liv went straight for Tanyel's ex man. Kai did disrespect Tanyel quite a bit."
Zero ambiguity there.
